I posted this thread yesterday and the radfem community crucified me for it (most of them - a few were respectful and willing to engage rather than just judge). I was trying to be respectful, and I read, listened and considered every post made there. Even changed my mind/was enlightened about some things. But I was accused of making it all about me, being a narcissist, I was called "dude" in a dismissive fashion (I find that weird - how some radfems use the word "dude" as a slur against transwomen and men they don't like).

Basically they thought it was asinine that I would ever consider my issues of neurodiversity to compare in any way to what a neurotypical woman faces.

But I wonder if I was being a dick. Do you think, reading my posts am I being a bit of a know it all or condescending? I'd like to learn to debate with feminists more effectively, because recently I've become strongly supportive of the movement, but a lot of them do not like hearing male voices speak about the topic because they're afraid we're going to make it all about us. Which is not an entirely unreasonable fear I admit.

Do you think I was dominating the conversation and dismissing/not listening to what they were saying, or do you think they were just hostile towards me because I'm a man? I was expecting a lot of empathy and sharing of ideas with the community but to my surprise they were hurt by the things I said and most of them were pretty pissed off.

Edit: I do think I could have made the discussion less about myself. That's probably why the response was largely negative and critical.
