Here would be chronological sequence of events.

Completing dreams: We are in the process of moving her family's very successful business from Europe to the USA. She is an only child and a vital link in the success of this venture. Just yesterday I was writing to her only cousin who is over-worked managing operations over there. If she died now, our families would take a big financial hit. So first step would be me going over there and leveraging my family here to push through the process. It was her dream and it should be completed.
Added responsibility to family: With her gone, I am solely responsible for her parents and her family. I cannot replace the daughter their parents had, or a friend, or a niece but I need to step up in this time of need.
Legacy: I won't re-marry or date. Our marriage was the coming together of 2 families to raise the next generation. This world has 50 horrible parents for every good pair. Our decision to have kids was based on one mutual promise; For the 50 sheep the others are pushing out, we had to take the time and effort to raise a Shepherd. And to do that I have to be humble and call on for help from both sides of our family to fill in great void she used to fill. All the many chapters I had hand written in dairies from when I was single, and when I met her and at every stage of our relationship become valuable documents for my kids to understand their mother when they are older.

My wife's body is the only thing that died. Her spirit lives through my children and her memory will remain in my heart for ever. My only wish is that in her last moments she found some solace in leaving behind so many great works.

Be suicidally depressed, and likely for a long, long while. Can't respond to the "kids" thing as my wife and I both despise children and find the idea of being shackled to the horrid little things terrifying....

My wife isn't allowed to die. I can't even begin to sort out what I would do. I'd want to go move to the mountains and never see anyone ever again, but that's not great rolemodeling for the kids.

I asked my husband this while we were out walking and he said he would remain single. We have no kids.

I said something to the effect of "No you won't. You will grieve and then get another woman. But please watch out for them. They are going to zero in on you because your salary will be attractive to them. Get a BJ or whatever from them but don't marry someone with kids."

Eh... cry? A woman that made me want to get married mean a absolutely great woman and mother which would hurt a lot to lose like that. if she was to die suddenly I really would be devastated and without ground. Maybe I'd hit the bar again for some years. But once the hit is past I would need to get up and take care of the living. My brother, sisters, and parents. Maybe I would find another objective to focus on like making a business or something. just so I have another thing to concentrate.

Bonus points for describing how children would affect this scenario.

It would change entirely the scenario, I would be a single dad, and I would need to take care of them. I could not just mourn those who are gone, I needed to take care of the ones who stayed. I would focus on guaranteeing that our legacy would continue in our children. If they were young I would focus on making them achieve independence and give the love they need. if they were past teens or already left the house, maybe I would take into a hobby and live by my sons for the rest of my life. As my life would not continue very far into the future.

Be real sad. I dont have a wife but when my best friend died I was real sad and I imagine it'd be the same as that. After a few years they fade into your memory more and more.

Honestly?

Take the insurance money and bank some, clear debt, finish school/work.

Some combination of working 80 hours a week and being an absolute man-whore. I broke every single rule I had for that woman, and no one will ever be as wonderful and as beautiful as she is. Even when she's being shitty.

Replacing her is out of the question, at that point you just stay busy to keep away the pain.

We don't have kids yet, and while they are a possibility on our future, until rhythm is established i honestly couldn't speculate on those changes.

Hire a nurse to help with the kids. Hit the whore scene for a while. Probably accidentally fall into another relationship after a while. It'd be a bit complicated with the kids, because I'd want them to learn and respect their mother's language and culture. So probably something with having them live with her mother or sisters for some time each year.
