I knew someone like this in college. She said high and low that she was a vegetarian, but at one point I saw her eating sushi during lunch (the dead fish kind, not the cucumber kind). Over the course of the following conversation she also admitted to eating steak every few weeks.

I'm not even a vegetarian/vegan myself but I hate it when people go high and mighty about being one themselves when they actually break the rules of that word on a regular basis.

To make it more stupid, next to that long list of buzzwords that a man should be about, she has a short and very basic list of what she likes herself. If you mention forests and mountains, then you don't have to mention nature separately, and you don't have to mention hiking right after mountains, at that point it becomes obvious you're just too boring to fill a full paragraph about yourself (as if "morning coffee" being first on the list wasn't enough of an indicator). So basically what she shares about herself about daily life is coffee, reading, and yoga, and what she shares about holidays with her is that it won't quickly be a city trip. Yeah, now that that's out of the way, there comes the laundry list of what she's looking for.

And don't think I haven't noticed that she neglects to mention even a single quality that she has herself.

I have a very, very strong feeling that she's been married to a guy for a long time, and that in that marriage she let him make all the decisions, to the point that right now she doesn't even know who she is any more, besides someone who drinks coffee in the morning. All the qualities in a man she's looking for are just cheap romance novel buzzwords, so she doesn't know what she's looking for in a man either, not really.

This is the perfect example of how women age.

Yes, she's old and looks old though most women look much, much older than she does. In that way she's luckier than most women- she ages more like milk rather than bananas like most women do.

However, her mind is fucking gone. Rather than get more pragmatic and sensible as they get older, women recede further into delusions. She still acts like she's the prize and has something to offer. She still thinks she can call the shots and is completely unaware of the pros and cons of dating an old woman like her.

She can't have children and she's too old to be a capable mother. She takes more money to keep up and she does nothing but criticize, yell, complain and demand.

But she has convinced herself she has a mission- to make the world better. She has fallen too far into the Eat Pray Love and Wild fantasies so now she is full time larping. Not that she really actually does anything, mind you. If she was truly concerned about making the world better she would have sacrificed, gone to school and put in the blood, sweat and time to accomplish something. But, just like she's a 'flexitarian', she's more concerned about the image of changing the world for the better rather than really doing so.

Don't dare challenge her about this though. You'll be called Nazi, White Supremacist or any of the current boogeymen that no longer means anything.

Let her live in her own little fantasy where she's relevant, active and hasn't squandered all her life until it's too late to really make anything of herself. This is all she has now and if you're not a man that fits into her imaginary fantasy world you'll be ignored.

When you once had youth, time, beauty and attention but now have nothing at all, you're invisible and forgotten, women have to do something to make their lives seem meaningful.
