One huge reason I fell for my husband is how dedicated he is to his daughter. He puts so much effort into being the best dad he can be and it's hella sexy. Good dad material = good husband material, in my mind.

I can't imagine marrying him if he was apathetic about her. I don't even think I would want to be friends, despite everything else I love about him.

For the sake of full disclosure, I have no kids of my own and likely cannot have them. I was hoping to find a man who already had a child to settle down with.

Don't get me wrong, I actually like children and think the ones my friends have are pretty cool little people. But dating a single dad? Sorry...not gonna happen. I don't want kids of my own, much less anyone else's. I'll be friends with the guy and even babysit for free if we have a close friendship, but I wouldn't consider him relationship material.

As for guys who have kids and don't pay? Yes, that is incredibly suck and they should do so until we have laws allowing for men to opt out financially in cases of paternity fraud.

him having children and an ex he was involved with would have been a deal breaker from the outset, but assuming it wasnt i wouldnt care less if he was not "paying for his kids" especially if he was never married to the babymama or he had been married and she frivorced him. i wouldnt want to share any part of him and that would be the only thing that would make dating him posible anyway

It's a turn off if a man does not love his children. If his financial situation does not allow him to financially support them, but they are financially well, and the dad supports his children in other ways than financial, it's fine. For instance, I'd be 100% okay with a dad who has custody of his children and gets child support from their mom.
