Maybe, but I'm inclined to believe that a large part of the reason is that the girl-next-door type is, on the whole, easier to force into submission. An overtly sexy 'bad girl' would be more likely to be aware of her superior SMV, rendering herself more or less immune to shallow terp attempts at establishing control... and that scares the living shit out of them. (And besides, what motivation would they have to impress their mothers? Mothers are feeeeemale. No respect for feeeeemales.)

I feel like most of the subjects involving red/blue/purple pill and mate selection have a very movie logic or upper middle-class suburb setting for how things go down and why.

But in the interest of sticking to the subject: When I think of a 'girl next door' type, I think of a girl who is at sharing similar upbringing, values and interests as myself, has a balance of cute to beautiful rather than being a 'perfect 10 hardbody', a bit tomboyish, and who's charms revolve less around excitement or exoticness and more around comfort and hearth. Coincidentally this is the kind of 'bring home to your mother' kind of girl because there's less friction when she shares development experiences but that's not the only 'type' guys go for or wind up with and are happy with. Not only that but there's more advantages like being able to do things together. And for me, as a relatively boring person, I like a girl who I can celebrate valentines day with pizza, lube and couch co-op Diablo 3 as opposed to going out to a fancy place.

But I imagine that by 'girl next door' what's usually meant is the nice clean 'average' girl in a straightedge kind of way. This is kind of a false dichotomy but lets take it at face value for the moment; If we divide women into Girl Next Door types and Diva/Bad Girl types what we're really saying is that we're dividing women into types that have more relationship attraction or more sexual attraction. If we do that then obviously you want to choose the relationship attraction for wife material because thats the category for things that are comforting, consistent and signals faithfulness. And I know that it can be dismissed as 'boys wanting mommy' but seriously regardless of how you are taken care of, its very comforting to be taken care of by human nature because having someone you trust that has your back and looks out for you is just more things for you to not stress about. Its the same as the whole Alpha/Beta male dichotomy where its two scales instead of a spectrum where having more of one means less of the other, although people will often increase their dependency on one when they feel that they lack the other.

Sounds like a "minority stereotype" to me. Minority stereotype: a stereotype that gets a lot of playtime but it's still only affects a minority of people. Or maybe I just don't follow the majority, because I can think for myself.

I choose whom I want, whether my parents are supportive or not. It just so happens I get along with a certain type of girl, and I like smart girls too.

However, I have noticed the "girls next door" tend to be more rational. That's a plus.
