I used to stalk TRP a fair bit and one thing I noticed was that many of their posters had huge respect for ''Alphas'' who had respectable jobs or who were their boss and whilst I cannot comment on whether those people are or are not Alpha the act of respecting position or more importantly using constructed position to to justify expectations of subservience in others is inherently beta, since it externalises the act of domination and delegates it to the position, a proxy rather than a personal relationship of dominant and submissive being created.

Alpha dominance on the other hand is personal and is created through emotions such as fear or respect and is usually created by personality traits which are quite transferable to any and all situations which is why intelligent Alphas may rise to the top within systems, but the act of being at the top within any system says very little about Alpha or Beta'ness.

Why does this matter?

Well I think that there are too many people in society who have a misguided respect for people who hold high office or who are in esteemed positions and I'm convinced a lot of their greatness exists in the minds of others rather than reality. I can't stand people who spit on those who are in positions which are not respected, e.g. waiters, supermarket cashiers, but are totally starstruck by doctors.
