Something I have been theorizing a lot lately is about the role of Elliott Rodger in the evolution of the incel reputation in society.

One idea, is that Elliott Rodger essentially acted as a martyr for incels. He exposed the cruel, shallow nature of the greek life hookup culture, and made people aware incels exist and are suffering.

However, another idea is he essentially made problems worse, because he exacerbated the character that men will turn into violent serial killers when denied sex, and thus led to more mockery and insults of incels.

As a whole, how do you believe Elliott Rodger effected society's view of incels and their struggles?
