This is very much a preference thing and not universal at all. Unless a guy is insanely hairy. Then it's a problem.

I used to go for smooth muscular men. That was my "type"...or so I thought. Turns out I'm really turned on by guys with a hairy chest. Not like Gorilla hairy but a nice little rug of hair. I think as long as the body hair is groomed and not totally out of control it can definitely be sexy on a man! However as a woman I feel that only the hair on my head is acceptable...everywhere else must be super smooth for me to feel "sexy".

I was pretty hairless young and never got complimented on it.

I've got a huge beard now and get compliments on it regularly. My chest and belly hair are coming in a lot thicker these days, and my wife actually likes it. I have no back hair, and my legs are super hairy - no complaints ever.

There's a difference between having body hair and being teen wolf. At least when you're super hairy there are options for maintenance removal that take way less work than losing weight or getting taller.

A lot of the downplaying of male body hair is hamstering to protect cishet men's ego since male waxing (and male skincare, haircare, etc, etc...) is viewed as gay.

Unless you look like a distant cousin to a great ape then nobody is going to see your body hair until you're already at the clothes off stage, and if you're in an LTR your partner should be comfortable enough to tell you what to do with it after a while, so I don't think it has a significant impact on ability to get sex or maintain a relationship in most occasions.

I get that hair is unpleasant for some people, but it's such an easily solved issue that I can't see people throwing away a good relationship for something that can be dealt with as long as you have 5 minutes and a good razor on hand.

I am not big on back and shoulder hair, other than that I am not specifically attracted to only hairy men or only smooth men.

I love body hair. Like others have said, it depends where it is. Hairy arms, legs, chest, face - yum. Backs, not so much. A hairless man is a turn off for me.

The reason you don't see it discussed as often is because it's too subjective. Some love, some hate, some are totally indifferent.

I mean, look at this pic of Burt Reynolds. That is one hairy man and I love it.

I'm pretty hairy, and some women really like it. Those women tend to belong to an older generation who grew up in a time when hairy men were sex symbols.

Also younger women with daddy issues who grew up with hairy fathers seems to get off on it.

I would prefer less hair, but I don't really care too much about it.

What? No! Body hair is great and I should know because I use every possible chance to be topless as long as it's socially acceptable.

Whenever I make the mistake of shaving my armpits, breast or that little path that goes from your dick to your belly button women always tell me that I look like a teenager or gay and that I should let it grow back ASAP. It's pure masculinity and goes great with a week old beard.

But it also depends. A few single hairs or patches on your shoulders or back are bad. It still needs to be groomed, but my body hair is still one important part of my sex appeal.

Why exactly would body hair on the dude's chest be unattractive? Aren't women attracted to masculinity? You know that facial hair and body hair are part of that shit, right?

I only like hair on the head, beard, dick area, a little bit on chest and maybe legs. I don't like hairy guys but I wouldn't want someone who shaves for some reason.

Plus shaving would make the guy a grater and waxing would be too painful..

But yeah being too hairy is bad even though it wasn't a deal breaker in past relationships. If a guy is hairy and hot he is hot regardless and if I don't like a hairy guy I don't like him regardless

Hmm. I've never thought about jawlines or hairstyles. Interesting that they come up on other people's lists. I have a pixie cut myself, which I know some guys hate, but I really like it and so does my lover. His hair is about the same length, but I don't mind long hair on a dude if it's well kept.

Height? Not a big deal unless the person is under 4 foot. Then I'd have to really think about it. I'm 5'7", and am either the same height or very slightly taller than most guys and a decent amount of women in my area. But if someone is a few inches shorter than me, it's hardly a disqualification.

Muscles, meh. Some are nice, but I prefer the "Dad Bod" body type for a man. No offense intended towards any ripped readers, but bulky muscular bodies turn me off like a light switch. Reminds me too much of the jocks who'd trip me and steal my books in middle/high school. A little extra cushion makes people look more, idk, real in my opinion.

Now...body hair. I do not like facial hair. At all. Smooth skin all the way, baby. Arm hair, leg hair, armpits, back, stomach, groin? That I'm absolutely fine with so long as it's not a jungle or I'm in danger of getting tangled in it, lol.
