With this, you've pretty much summed up why TRP gains ground: guys who are having trouble with romance cannot discuss their problems openly without being mocked and socially punished. Is it any surprise that they will seek out places where they can discuss such things? Or that they will then discard acceptable norms of social speech, given that those norms are what suppressed the discussion of their concerns to begin with?

Speaking for myself: My marriage had turned into a dead bedroom. I had tried everything she suggested to fix it, I had tried every piece of relationship advice I could find, tried counselling, nothing worked.

Eventually I stumbled unto TRP, I tried it, and it worked better than I thought possible.

I couldn't care less about social issues or being butthurt about female nature. TRP as a sexual strategy just works exactly as advertised.

In my case an "I love you but I'm not IN love with you" followed by a divorce led me to the 'sphere. And when I found it, well all I can say is the pieces fell into place for me. SO much of the "female mystique" was laid bare in front of my eyes that I simply couldn't deny that it all made sense based on my past experiences. I get that for many that sounds crazy, but that is as honest as I can be about WHY I went RP. No, I don't hold to everything the 'sphere imparts about women and relationships, but I've found most of my "disagreement" is a matter of degrees, not whether or not the concepts are true.

Example: AWALT - I don't take it to literally mean ALL women will do X. I take it to mean all women are likely to do X if Y and Z are met, and each women varies on exactly what Y and Z are.

and another: Dread - the concept of active dread repulses me on a gut level, but I have to admit that's because my wife has done NOTHING to deserve such treatment. It would be dastardly of me to inflict that kind of emotional pain on my wife when she has done absolutely nothing like it to me. However, if I can believe some of the stories I've read in the 'sphere, I'll fully admit some women deserve that and more based on their behavior towards their mate. As a RP concept, I understand active dread even though I detest it. And, I can understand WHY some men would choose that tool from the box, based on his situation.

So IMO, TRP is an extreme reaction to legitimate social issues that SOME men have now turned into a platform for other forms of hate. I don't know if that is simple incorrect assumptions of who is at fault, or if they are simply hateful people. I guess you could say by default new men in the 'sphere are indeed "losers" on some level, so I think that debate is futile. To me the more important question is: how many of those losers improved their lot in life? If its more than a few, its probably still worth it in my book.

Anger and frustration. I joined because I was sick of being seen as lesser and having my efforts being futile. Then the RP came along and explained that it was my looks and the fact I was suplicating. So I'm working harder and harder on that. I'm still in the anger phase ( I find it very anger inducing that my value as a human being is determined by what I can do while women are valued for who/what they are. Also, hypergamy seems ridiculously unfair ). But I don't spout off about it. The reason I don't is also TRP, namely, people don't give a shit about my struggle. So I have to man up and fix my shit, since I can't expect someone else too.

Men, myself included, adopted the principles simply because they work. I don't care about the MRA stuff although I agree with some of it. I'm getting quality attention from quality women who enjoy my company. Simple as that.

The issues you describe (gynocentrism, lack of positive identity for men, divorce/family court, rape culture, etc) are more general manosphere issues. TRP is a way to have successful sexual relationships with women. It gets clouded by a lot of other issues as they relate to the theories attatched to TRP, but utility is the ultimate purpose. So I would say TRP is the legitimate result of one social issue, the issue of modern men not knowing how to attract modern women. If TRP is effective at teaching men how to do that, TRP is successful. Other social issue stuff is at best auxiliary, or just tangential. Whether or not you believe the effectiveness of TRP to be harmful to women or men is also tangential. It accomplishes what it sets out to do

I hope BPers are reading these responses thus far. It really shows you how mainstream advice doesn't always work even you think it should work, the reason why that's the case is because as others have pointed out the rules of the SMP have radically changed and everything has turned upside down. In other words, men need to have game these days, it's no longer enough to just be a kind, decent guy with a decent job...and the problem is that mainstream advice continues this outdated narrative..this inevitably leads to a lot of confusion, anger, and resentment from guys who've been fed the wrong and outdated information regarding women and sex and are learning that the hard way. The sexual revolution and the emergence of the free-market SMP has thus far been very great for women, but only a small minority of men actually benefit from it while the most of other men are shooting in the dark or just running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

In my case I was frustrated that the advice I was getting(from mostly women) was having the opposite effect on my life.

There was a bit of cognitive dissonance where I was hearing one thing but seeing that in actual fact, sensitive, nice, considerate guys were not getting laid, even in cases where they had other attributes.

I can't remember how I found trp (it was four years and a couple of accounts ago) but a lot of it spoke to me in that when I was out the kind of things they were suggesting worked in the wild.

TRP is majorly caused by a crash collision between traditionalism and modern-liberal attitudes. It's a case of nice guys being nice where if you are nice without being confident or attractive you will get shit on by women. Or more simply, it's men being providers in their head while providers are no longer needed.

In my case being myself, too nice (even when it wasn't earned), unable to stand my ground, and giving up on exercise were all leading me to a very dark place.

Do to all of the above women have shown zero interest in me and has made it very difficult for me broaden social circle.

Think about it for a second, would you rather hang out with a group of positive/outgoing people who are successful and have there shit together or with a group of negative people who constantly complain about everything and bring everyone down with them? Most of us would choose the the first example, women also do.

TRP puts yourself first and everything else second. This is what I needed in my life and feel better than I have in many years now that I actually have a plan instead of the bullshit advice "just be yourself" that I always received elsewhere.

I'm no longer an angry asshole who feels hopeless in life (I was angry post TRP), TRP helped me in that aspect. It was a reverse deal for me, TRP opened my eyes to what was happening and now feel zero anger inside of me.

Feminism running away to the point that real anti-male biases begin to emerge in society. It's that simple. The same way that feminism was the obvious political response to real and serious biases against women, TRP and MRA is the backlash from men. Except the way the media works now, I don't know if it will be possible for any viewpoints that aren't in line with SJW identity politics to really gain traction anymore, because the crybully tactics are so ridiculously effective at stopping any discourse from happening at all. Maybe things will just have to get even worse for men before there will be a serious pushback.

This sounds like a TOTALLY unbiased description of the two groups. Look man. BP is coming from a ton of different angles. Many of us disagree on many different levels about what's right or wrong with TRP. Me personally? I think there are many fundamentally troubling issues that men these days have to deal with, and I don't think they're being properly addressed.

Here's the one place that BP does agree. Whether there really are issues or not, BP agrees that TRP is a fucking terrible philosophy for dealing with those problems. If they don't exist then it's just being a dick. But even if the problems done exist many of us feel that TRP is filled with false prophets and lies about how to actually deal with these issues.

Me, I see TRP as very little different from a cult. They've taken a disenfranchised group that is uniquely marginalized (because in this case it's hard to talk about male issues without losing everything to "priveledge"), but they take this group and prey on their insecurities and teach them very self destructive philosophies. Why? Why would they perpetuate it? Because it's a feedback cycle.

Let's say you spend some substantial time in this. for the sake of argument let's say it me not really working that well. Gives you some confidence, but burns some bridges. But you start justifying this by digging deeper into the sidebar. For every failure there's an explanation. After a while though you really start needing some validation. Well you don't get it by succes, the best way is to get it by recruiting. This, right here, is very similar to how cults work.

But wait you say! What if it really does work? Then they're just out there spreading the good news. A few problems with this. First off, women are a neutral sum game. For every high value woman you pull off the market that's one you can't access. So why would you chose to build competition? Well, because it helped you get out of a bad place, you want to help people feeling the same. Maybe. Except that's the same thing you would think if you're looking to validate your own waste of time in this philosophy.

People who come up with real game changers, they don't often give it away for free. Think about all the financial seminars you can go buy your way into. Do you think Warren Buffet is setting those up? It's not the really successful guys who give it away. It's the ones who are either trying to scam you or validate themselves. TRP is just the Trump University of relationship strategy.

There are other reasons why I know this is all bullshit, and it's a long conversation. But here's the reason it matters to me. TRP hurts vulnerable men. That disgusts me more than anything else, and I think that's true for many BP. We laugh or whatever, but at the heart a lot of BP is like that.

I think it's both. Many people on TRP were directly hurt by legitimate social issues. Many believe that they were lied to their whole lives by women since they grew up surrounded by women telling them that they just need to be themselves, and that women don't care about looks, and when they grew up, they learned that was all a lie. Many RP's were married and were left with two weekends a month with their children, meanwhile being forced to put pay an disproportionation amount of their paycheque for child support. Many RP's grew up with shitty abusive mother (I grew up with a shitty mother, though I wouldn't say I'm RP), experienced first hand the risks men take. Many RP's were hurt by their ex's.

So yeah, I believe that a lot of RP's are people who are looking for a place to vocalize their grievances and frustrations but I think they should be taken seriously. At least, they should be taken about as seriously as women are taken in support groups or something. There isn't a lot of places that help men deal with male issues, certainly no where near the amount of spaces that women have to help them deal with female issues. TRP is honest, ugly, and it works. Personally, I can't think of a single male space where men are allowed to be men without allowing access to women. Just think about it, women have many women only spaces, but men aren't allowed to have theirs. Every corner of a man's life has been invaded by women who demanded that the space gets changed to suit them. Women are not allowing men to support and help each other without the supervision or approval of women. To me, I feel like TRP is the last space on earth where a man can go to to discuss male things with other males without being invaded by women. I love the fact that most women find TRP repulsive, and I hope they continue to do so. I hope they stay away, and let men have one thing on this planet that is completely theirs.

With that said, I think that it is undeniable that there are social issues that need to be addressed. Most men, whatever pill they might be, would agree that often times, men's problems are overshadowed by women's problems, and often times the women problem that overshadows male problems is less prevalent. Most men that I know, regardless of pill, feel like they are being expected to carry women up on their shoulders. They feel like they are being forced to do all of the heavy work, all of the dangerous work, all of the hard work, without receiving any level of appreciation meanwhile women are getting a free pass simply because they are women (pussy pass).A lot of men I know, regardless of pill, would say they feel like women want quotas for BOD positions and affirmative actions for CEO positions and other high level positions, without those same quotas and actions being put in place for low level dangerous and dirty jobs. A lot of men I know would agree feminism has turned a truly noble goal into a grotesque thing which dictates that women get all the benefits without any drawbacks, and any man who stands up and discusses any inequality or injustice in that is labelled a misogynist. I think that men were raised believing that one day they will find someone they are compatible with, they will get married, have children, and die surrounded by the people they love, but came to the realisation that the more likely situation is that their wives will initiate a divorce, take their children, take their assets, and they would end up dying alone anyway. I think the social issue that leads many men to TRP is the feeling of betrayal by women. Women are represented by feminism, and feminism is very very anti-men.I think that feeling of betrayal causes men to say "you know what? Fuck you, fuck your feelings, fuck what you want, it's time I stand up for me and what I want".

At the end of it, after the BP phase, after the anger phase, the end of the road all you can do is laugh. You begin to see the world for what it is, and you begin to understand your place in it. So you have 3 options, (1) you play the game and accept the fact that society has turned men to disposable slaves who's main role is to be the horse that women ride (bp), (2) you opt out, sit on the side lines, live your life doing what you want while accepting that you will still be supporting women financially through taxation (MGTOW), or (3) You find loopholes in the game and take advantage of them (TRP). So all you can do is laugh at the irony that in a world so obsessed with equality and justice, men are forced to choose one of three options, none of which ends up with them being treated equally or fairly.
