I don't cold approach men because men are opportunists. They may not have set out to cheat on their long term girlfriend that day, but I just showed them it could be easy. Dating me should be an intentional act and nothing less.

Yes, remember if you have to ask the guy to take the next, or even the first step, then he doesn't like or love you enough.

I used to make all kinds of excuses why a guy wouldn't ask me out. Maybe he's too shy, he doesn't know I'm interested, blah blah blah. Now I realized it was just because he wasn't interested enough to ask.

Most relationships I've seen where the woman initiated the first date or a relationship/marriage, she's getting cheated on or her SO doesn't respect her. Or she's still initiating most everything in the relationship and he's just along for the ride.

I found out recently that one of my close friends chased her now-husband to get him back after they broke up once. She also told him she wanted to get married after years together. He married her, but didn't propose. She's always complaining about how he yells at her or doesn't like how she does her makeup. They're long distance and she is almost always going to him. He doesn't want to celebrate her birthday or Valentine's Day. He started pushing her for kids when she wanted to pursue a graduate degree and be financially stable first.

Remember, its their job to chase. And our job to choose. I wish I stuck by that in my pickme days.

Just got out of a relationship (1 weeks so it’s fresh). Can confirm that if you make the first move, expect low effort for the entire relationship in terms of keeping the romance alive. 3.5 years, always voiced I wanted a little more thoughtfulness but I can’t even remember the last time he planned a date, suggested a place he thought I would like, etc. Talk about being entirely unfulfilled. I’m done making the first move. Literally would rather be an old maid than go thru a 3.5 year relationship constantly begging for date night that wasn’t planned by me.
