I've been interested in this stuff since I was young. I used to listen to Tom Leykis pretty much every single day after school starting around age 12. By 18-19 I was participating heavily on gender dynamics type of forums and had read a lot of material on similar subjects.

When I found TRP (I can't really remember how that came about though) everything just sort of clicked for me as a lot of it reflected either my own thoughts and observations or things I'd been reading for years prior, except now it was in a more consolidated form.

I just mostly find it amusing and sad that there are people who think like that... kids who didn't get laid in highschool taking the worst path ever.

I was quite fascinated by the red pill when I discovered it a few months ago, simply because it's radically different from the ideas I see primarily on the web.

As a more blue-leaning female, there's a lot that I disagree with, but I also understand how the red pill has the potential to be a very successful male strategy.

Probably around 2006 when I was in college and my college sent a mass email to all students citing a 1 in 4 Mary Koss stat on rape. Through investigation I found the stat to be flawed and found that feminist disinformation and propaganda were creating unnecessary fear of men in our society.

Over the years I found like minded people who questioned not only the junk science stats that feminism is built on, but the feminist ideology itself along with critiques of modern day women. I am an extreme anti-feminist.

I mostly go to manosphere subs because Reddit has a feminist bias and tends to censor and ban those who are not adherents of the social justice ideology. Conservatives tend to be white knights, and white knighting enables a lot of problems with gender relations and allows evil ideologies like feminism to hold sway.

i discovered the man-o-sphere via the HBD-o-sphere emanating from Steve Sailer's blog and also the comments section of Two Blowhards. HBD and the man o sphere are both generally part of the Dark Enlightenment. HBD encompasses sex differences, so that was the cross over that somehow led to Roissy (now chateau heartiste) where i was a frequent commenter from about the end of 2008 to about 2010

i happened upon the concept via a comment someone made on r/okcupid, and wanted to see what it was all about. i took time to read the philosophies and waited until i slept on it to react.

the behavior patterns described did seem to have some truth for some women that i have known over the years, though not for any of my close friends. they are behavior patterns that, as a feminist, i see as social dynamics that are changing, and must continue to change if women are going to advance. RP, on the other hand, not only accepts them as inborn and unchangeable, but much of its strategies seem to aim to reinforce them.

there was some good advice, though i thought it was hilarious that they thought that it only applied to men. i liked the idea of "holding frame" and think more people should control their emotions at certain times.

i no longer visit any RP subs, as it simply makes me sad for these hurting men and the women they will become involved with. they are filled with angry people, who instead of thinking "how can we change the system together to one that benefit all of us?" think "how can i work the system to benefit myself, no matter the consequences?" i came to the conclusion that there is no sense in arguing with RPers because their view is deterministic. many of the people that come to this sub, however, are more open minded. so i participate in conversation here hoping that while i honestly share my experiences and opinions, one of them may make a RPer a little less sure of his beliefs and open to other possibilities.

I joined Reddit maybe two years ago for work related things.

The culture on Reddit itself was a bit jarring for me. TBH everyone seemed like a nerd who loved listing fallacies. Or everyone was openly racist. Or everyone was "outraged" about something, whether it be "fat people" or "women" or "men" or "blacks" or "neckbeards." I couldn't relate.

Not soon after I started seeing bitter and hateful dudes pop up in AskReddit and CMV and AskWomen discussions.

Everyone would say, "Ignore, it's just a TERPer."

So naturally I investigated, and found the TRP sub.

Ignorant of their purpose, I would attempt debating them on their sub. Usually debating the guys who were hateful, a la "WOMEN ARE THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL AND MEN ARE COMPLETELY HONORABLE!" I would go in like, "How Sway? I'm trying to understand how you went from 0-100 real quick."

I was swiftly banned from TRP and simultaneously RPW, though I had never even heard of RPW. I guess they operate as a unit.

I found TheBluePill sub, but realized they weren't interested in debate, just jokes.

Someone there told me about PPD.

And here I am.

A conversation with the guy that is now my BF. Originally I was interested because it provided some insight, and I think he deliberately shared the more extreme posts with me to gauge my reaction. I've stuck around because it's interesting, it does point out some obvious societal issues that conflict with our biological needs, and at it's core is about providing tools to get what each individual wants. There is nothing wrong with that My feelings on RP are mixed. Some points I agree with. Some I don't. There are things that have clicked with me and things that I instantly reject. It's not for everyone, but if it helps someone feel better about themselves and have more confidence in their choices, I"m all for it.

I bummed around relationship forums when bored. I noticed some people giving crazy and destructive advice. Learned about TRP from that.

I'm just curious because originally those things emerged from men coming together online to talk about issues that affected them as men, women only began popping in after these discussions grew in popularity and became a noticeable trend on the Internet, especially when it came to things like sexual strategy and the idea of a SMP; many women had a problem with that and didn't like the language men were using to describe women and their interactions with them so now women will always have something to chime in on regarding men's issues even if all it is is to further talk shit about such men coming together to talk about things affecting them.

if you're against TRP/manosphere are you taking shots at it out of some self-defense mechanism because it exposes the 'Female Playbook' and possibly your own sexual strategy to the benefit of men, or perhaps some of the things the manopshere talks aboout rang true with you?

Definitely not. People can disagree with an idea for more reasons than secretly agreeing with it.

It started as disbelief but these types of things just fascinate me. It seems so illogical and counter-intuitive. I went down a flat-earth rabbit hole last week and I have looked at holocaust deniers websites as well. I just have a lot of curiosity about how people reach these strange conclusions even when they seem to make their lives miserable.

This is an interesting thread. When I find about something on the internet that I strongly disagree with or is stupid, I dont go there and try to change their minds or fuck with them...I ignore them and move on to better things.

I live close to Sandy Hook, so developed an interest in the virginity status of mass shooters.

When the whole Santa Barbara thing happened, the shooter's presence on a totally different message board was mentioned - I went there, was horrified, but noticed that those guys were making fun of the red pill.

I had to see what board it was that those guys made fun of, and was not let down.

Ended up on PPD.

It doesn't expose anything. It's pretty incoherent and dishonest, despite claims of being data-oriented and science-y.

It provides a framework for a lot of men and women to continue supporting a society that makes it hard to have and raise kids, though, so it's gaining traction since having and raising kids is hard and a non-sjw justification for continuing the status quo is appealing to many people.
