Men are constantly banned from RPW for "I'm a man"ing and then giving RPW terrible advice to fuck on the first date and happily be a plate and not to look for marriage. RPW advice is RPW advice no matter who it cones from

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth27 points28 points29 points 11 years ago (67 children) | Copy Link

Women aren't banned from TRP.

Women can say whatever they like over there, subject to identical rules as the males.

Pick a username like "RandomRandomRandom". Go post. No one will know you're female. Welcome.

Now.... Post and identify yourself as female... Well, thats asking for special treatment isn't it ?

It's effectively saying "Hey, I'm not like the rest of you. Treat me differently". If it isn't, why say it ?

Females can comment and post. Just don't go asking for the female pussy-pass and you'll be fine.

You Girls can get by without that ? Right ?

You wanted to be treated as being equal to the Males ? Right ?

Whats wrong with keeping your mouth shut and learning just HOW males interact with each other in a way few females get to experience ?

What do you gain by identifying yourself as female UNLESS you are after that pussy-pass ?

So.... Go do it the right way... Find out how RP males treat fellow RP males. Those of you who think "it's a religion" and "dogma isn't questioned" and "anger phase posters don't face criticism in comments" are going to get one fuck of a rude shock.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Now.... Post and identify yourself as female... Well, thats asking for special treatment isn't it ?

Right. And on RPW...they ALWAYS identify themselves as a man.

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

No. But neither TRP or RPW require you to identify as anything.

You can post on both, or neither, without revealing your gender.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

But they DO...always post as a man in RPW. Wanting speshual treatment.

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth-2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

No, they get the same treatment everyone else gets. The treatment of a poster.

How do you know they always post as a man in any case ? Been stalking post histories to check ?

It doesn't matter. RPW rules are "you can identify gender, or not, your call". TRP rules are "don't identify yourself as a woman, you are welcome anyway as a poster". MRP rules are "please identify yourself if you are a woman". I don't think RPP or AskTRP or AltTRP have any rules on gender identification, but I haven't checked as I don't frequent those subs.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Nice hamstering. And luckily from the few posts I read on RPW...I immediately see the 'Man here' trope.

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Lol. And when you don't see "man here"... What do you assume ?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What do you think?

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly

[–]17b29a8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

Now.... Post and identify yourself as female... Well, thats asking for special treatment isn't it ?

Are all statements about yourself like this? Are you asking for special treatment if you mention you're 35?

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Well, it depends.

Clearly some identifiers are much more relevant to some subs than to others.

As TRP is explicitly setup to be a male discussion of male sexual strategies you are sailing close to their wind. It's not as if they didn't go out of there way to make sure YOU had a safe sub to talk about YOUR gender issues. That's what RPW is for.

They just prefer the male sub to be male and/or gender neutral.

[–]17b29a7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

"TRP is explicitly setup like x" and "they prefer their sub like x" doesn't provide much reason as to WHY their sub being like that is a good idea.

The only reason I could imagine is that they find women's perceptions on any issue completely irrelevant, but then why would you want them to post at all?

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

I don't know, not a TRP mod.... But your supposition must be incorrect, because you are perfectly able to post any views over there you want. So this rule shouldn't affect whether women post or not, just how their posts are treated (enforcing their treatment like any other post).

I suspect it's just to cut down on drama and the need for vigilant modding.... You can't put 100,000 red pill males together, a good 20,000 of which are currently in the anger stage, and let people post "As I woman I think...." Posts.

The anger phase guys will go nuts. Massive shitstorm. Not worth the hassle.

Females please contribute on RPW as explicit females... Or comment here gender neutral... Seems to offer women all the options they need, without making a mods life "10% normal mod stuff, 90% deal with today's maelstrom of shitstorms"

Frankly, the people it's protecting are the females who'd think it a good idea to write an "As a female..." post as much as anyone else.

[–]17b29a9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

I don't know, not a TRP mod....

No, but you did claim pointing out you're a woman is necessarily asking for special treatment

But your supposition must be incorrect, because you are perfectly able to post any views over there you want.

I'm not capable of posting any of my personal experiences because they are rarely coherent without the context of me being a woman

I suspect it's just to cut down on drama and the need for vigilant modding.... You can't put 100,000 red pill males together, a good 20,000 of which are currently in the anger stage, and let people post "As I woman I think...." Posts.

Lol, moderation rules are designed to shelter a group of overemotional manchildren who are already angry from raging more, basically? And this sub isn't a total joke?

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Yes, it is. If that special treatment is only please take higher note of these views concerning females as they come from a female.

Treating a comment that way is different to treating it as "is this a convincing argument or comment in its own right".

Even if you think that's exclusively how you'd use it, you must also realise that not all women would.

If you want to post female personal experience do so on RPW that's exactly what it's there for. You are saying the equivalent of "aw come on, why can't I post my ask science question in ask historians. I wanna post in ask historians". Go fucking ask science with a science question or comment.

TRP is still open for your comments or posts. They should just be gender neutral, as a top level comment in ask historians has to be from an actual historian.

Finally, mod rules are there to shelter everybody. Some shelter you. Some shelter me. Some shelter other posters. Together they build a place people can talk about stuff without it becoming /b.

You're sitting there saying "I'm kinda comfortable with that rule going, but I want this one. I think it's important". Why should mods listen to that ?

They're trying to make sure their members have a good space to talk about their interests.

Trust me, every sub has over emotional children of all gender varieties within it. If there is one thing reddit is not short of... Blue Pill Girl... It's over emotional comments raging about other subs being total jokes.

[–]17b29a1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Yes, it is. If that special treatment is only please take higher note of these views concerning females as they come from a female.

I don't know what you're trying to say here, sorry.

If you want to post female personal experience do so on RPW that's exactly what it's there for. You are saying the equivalent of "aw come on, why can't I post my ask science question in ask historians. I wanna post in ask historians". Go fucking ask science with a science question or comment.

I don't mean talking about my relationship issues or whatever, I mean experiences that are directly relevant, like relating some behavior of my boyfriend that makes me more attracted to him (the same way RP men recount the inverse experiences all the time).

Direct experiences (like something with my bf) obviously don't make any sense without mentioning I'm a woman, but even with things like observing other women saying something in a group, social dynamics vary quite significantly between mixed company or all-women groups or whatever, and it'd be missing a lot of information if I didn't mention that.

More generally, pretty much all interactions are shaped by your gender, and it's only natural to include that information when it's pertinent. Also because of that, even if I'm just sharing my view on some issue, there are many, many things discussed on gender subs like TRP where it'd be plain dishonest if anything to not mention that I'm a woman. There are heaps of things women don't experience the same as men.

You're sitting there saying "I'm kinda comfortable with that rule going, but I want this one. I think it's important". Why should mods listen to that ?

I'm not suggesting a rule change, I don't disagree with anything other than the low figure of merely 20k whiny dudes, I'm just laughing at how the sub that can circlejerk for days about how all these other pussies need rules to protect their feels supposedly has rules to shelter them because they can't handle posting in the presence of women without crying about it

Like, according to you the mods just cannot handle that many children whining at once so they made up some nonsense to mollify them. I think that's pretty funny.

Trust me, every sub has over emotional children of all gender varieties within it. If there is one thing reddit is not short of... Blue Pill Girl... It's over emotional comments raging about other subs being total jokes.

Totally, after all what's the difference between, say, /r/AskReddit, and the sub that is, by own description, primarily group therapy for angry dudes

[–]cocaine_faceRed Pill Man0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

I am not a mod either, but you're allowed to post a long story about your boyfriend and his actions and how they make you feel - you're just not allowed to mention your gender. People reading should be able to figure it out - hell, mention some gender-specific part of yourself, like, "my dress" or something.

But we don't want, "I am a woman" posts, because they come off as a woman coming in and basically saying, "You! Men who do not understand the women. I am a woman, and I will teach you the holy path".

TRP doesn't care if you're a woman or if you're a man. They care about whether you have a good argument or not. And while I don't want to discourage you from posting, I suspect most men wouldn't actually benefit materially from a POV post of a woman - at least in this context. I'm one of the more advanced members over there and I just can't see how it would be helpful to the guys.

[–]17b29a1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

because they come off as a woman coming in and basically saying, "You! Men who do not understand the women. I am a woman, and I will teach you the holy path".

why is this relevant?

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Men go to RPW all the time , identify as men and give advice , but that's none of my business .

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Women come to MRP, identify as female and give advice, thats none of your business either.

TRP wants to create a truly egalitarian and equal environment. So go over there and post like a truly equal and egalitarian person. You'll be treated the exact same way as anyone else, male or female.

Why do you want to be treated differently as a female ? If you don't.... Whats the problem with just talking like a human and letting others assume your gender ?

[–]saltinadojust tylenol's fine, thanks7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Because sometimes, your gender is an important bit of context to your argument.

[–]max_peenorCertified TRP Shitlord12 points13 points14 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A proper argument isn't about you. It's about the issue at hand.

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, RP of all things recognises that male and females are different.

That's why RPW is there. For when your argument has to rest on the fact you are female.

TRP is there primarily for males, but if your argument doesn't rest on the fact that you are female you can post there too... As a full and complete equal, in a gender blind way... That's what you want right ?

If not, cool... Have fun over at RPW. It's a great sub. Lots of useful stuff for females.

[–]ashurdashur1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

If TRP was an equal environment, RPW wouldn't even exist. Everyone would just be at TRP under one sub.

[–]justtookitThe Red Pill is your salvation through destruction11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

'If a society was an equal environment, men's and women's locker rooms and bathrooms wouldn't exist. Everyone would just use one bathroom.'

[–]ashurdashur3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

If bathroom society worked the way TRP and RPW does, men would walk around freely in women's bathrooms waving their dicks around while women would have to disguise themselves to enter the men's room and then get raped and kicked out for daring to show up

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm not following the analogy. Which RP behavior is equivalent to men waving their dicks around and which behavior is comparable to raping women?

[–]ashurdashur9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Go to the top post on RPW. Third comment is a guy saying "As a guy...." No staying gender neutral like these RPers suggest women should do. His comment isn't downvoted or accused. He's saying something from his perspective as a male and its freely welcomed.

Go to RP and find a comment with that starts with "As a woman..." Wait you probably can't. Because it's probably been downvoted to hell because DONT BRING UP THE PUSSYPASS or doesn't exist because women should know their place and not intrude on the boys club in the first place, right.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That doesn't answer my question. Which RP behavior is equivalent to men waving their dicks around and which behavior is comparable to raping women?

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, they'd still be seperate even if equal.

TRP is advice for men

RPW is advice for women

These are different sets of advice drawn from the same super-set (RP).

It's like having an advice site for teenagers... And retirees... You can say they are human equals, but the advice is still better split so the retirees don't have to scroll past 1,000 one direction posts and the teenagers don't have to scroll past 1,000 "how do I make the most of my Roth IRA" posts.

[–]SpikeTheDragQueenLeaving the blue behind0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Actually, there are loads of "sister-subs" that have been set up in lieu of their parent subs. Mostly so women have a place to hamster about the problems only women face in that particular field.

Im not ragging on sister subs, but when they're made for things like smoking weed, building flatpack furniture and other such stupid shit that doesn't need sexual segregation, it makes no sense.

In terms of sexual strategy though, it 100% makes sense to have a sister sub for women. It makes the MOST sense of any sister sub.

[–][deleted] 1 points1 points1 points 11 years ago | Copy Link

[permanently deleted]

[–]SpikeTheDragQueenLeaving the blue behind0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

TRP was made with the goal of discussing male sexual strategy. THEN RPW was made to discuss female sexual strategy. They are separate due to their sex orientated nature. Yes, the concept was formed by men (something something men make everything and women piggyback something something) but the goals of both subs are equitable. You have a point, in that TRP men may defend their space and with many of TRP regulars still residing in the "anger directed at women" zone and RPW have less "man-hate" in a side-by-side comparison, but as with anything on the internet, you have to wade through the shit to get to the gold. A woman is not going to be banned for posting in TRP. It might be inhospitable due to the inhabitants, but woman are as welcome to post as men.

[–]FleetingWishStepford Girl5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, TRP and RPW are different, and run differently, because men and women are different. They run by different rules, and want different things out of life.

[–]GridReXXit be like that3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago* (13 children) | Copy Link

Now.... Post and identify yourself as female... Well, thats asking for special treatment isn't it ?

Not really.

I imagine she would state it, because the perspective is entirely different from a male's?

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

So why not just state what you want to state ?

Why the need to preface it with "As a female I think..."

Why isn't "I think..." good enough ?

Isn't that what you want ? Equality ? There it is. Staring you in the face. Offered the opportunity you don't want to take it. You WANT to have your thoughts dealt with differently because you are female.

RP does that too. RPW is the place for that.

[–]GridReXXit be like that14 points15 points16 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Huh?

No one said you have to treat her "better" because she said she's a woman. If you treat her "special" because of that, that's your issue. Not hers.

Saying she's a woman just provides context. An entire life living as a woman worth of context.

Same with male specific issues.

If I wanted to know how sex felt as a man. I would listen to the man.

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth-3 points-2 points-1 points 11 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

Yes, and by supplying that context you are saying "treat my information differently due to this special context".

You can do that. That's what RPW is for. Have fun posting your female specific context stuff there. It's an awesome sub.

However, supplying that context is a request to "treat my information differently from the information of the other posters".

That's not what TRP is about.

Like I keep saying... All I ever hear from feminists is "we want to be treated exactly equally to males".

Here is TRP... Offering EXACTLY that opportunity... Amending their rules to ENFORCE that equality... Post, and be treated exactly like a man.

Funnily enough. Turns out when you offer feminists/women that opportunity.. The one they always claim to crave... They run a mile, whining all the way "oh but I want to claim a special privilege to have my view looked at differently BEFORE I then demand equality".

You can't have it both ways. You wants to be treated like a man ? Pop over, post gender neutral, found out how the world and other men treat fellow men.

It's going to suck, because you're used to special treatment as a woman, but I'm sure you'll get over it. Might be a bit of an eye opener.

[–]GridReXXit be like that9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Dude.

I don't mind being treated "the same as men."

But in a space that is expressly about gender dynamics and sex, do you really think your experience as a man is the same as my experience as a woman?

Here is TRP... Offering EXACTLY that opportunity... Amending their rules to ENFORCE that equality... Post, and be treated exactly like a man.

Yeah that kind of makes no sense.

Context matters. If someone says something. And you assume he's a man. You're going to interpret what he said as someone who has lived as a man. TRP pretends it's super objective, but they aren't. Everyone has implicit bias.

If I go on RPW and a poster says "Sex is the most important thing in the world to me, more than food, sleep, water, etc...!"

I'm going to assume she's a woman because its RPW and I'm also going to assume she's an outlier. I will then view many of her statements through this lens of "She's more man-like than others... grain of salt."

If I find out later it wasn't a she, but a TRP man. It 1) now makes more sense 2) completely changes the context and how I will interpret the narrative.

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don't mind being treated "the same as men." But in a space that is expressly about gender dynamics and sex, do you really think your experience as a man is the same as my experience as a woman?

No we think they are very different. So different we have created two subs to serve the two needs. TRP and RPW.

We seem to be in agreement. If you want to be treated differently, and we recognise you should be, then we each have our own sub.

If youwant to be treated exactly the same then you can also do that.

It boggles my mind that this thread is full of women who (apparently) want to be treated as females first and foremost, but who won't post on RPW. That's what it is there for.

TRP is only suitable for females who want to get treated exactly like males, as many of you claim you want to be treated. Like a man.

Context matters. If someone says something. And you assume he's a man. You're going to interpret what he said as someone who is lived as a man. TRP pretends it's super objective, but they aren't. Everyone has implicit bias.

Yes, it matters. RP is happy to say gender makes a huge difference. That's why RPW was created.

What are you NOT getting about "you have two options, be treated as man or be treated as a female. One sub for each. Choose"

You seem to want to have your cake and eat it too.

You have both options available. Why be so insistent that neither A nor B are acceptable. I DEMAND C, where I get everything I want and screw what the other members of that sub want.

[–]GridReXXit be like that4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

TRP is only suitable for females who want to get treated exactly like males, as many of you claim you want to be treated. Like a man.

You keep saying this. And it only make sense if the topic we are discussing isn't about vaginas and penises.

Most sane people will defer to the woman on how women typically "feel" regarding her vagina.

Most sane people will defer to to the man on how men typically "feel" regarding his penis.

I'm not saying women should run rampant in TRP saying "ME WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR."

For the most part, remaining neutral is best.

But if something hyper relevant emerges, it does the discussion a disservice to not add context.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

YET on RPW...they ALWAYS identify as a man...go figure! Special treatment!!

And not 'I am a man...'

Yeah, and you can add that context to the discussion any time you like at RPW.

Hell, you could probably do it at TRP if only you said "Well, my plate told me the other night that..."

Look, maybe I can add some context over to XX by starting a comment or post "Well, as a male misogynist shitlord...". I wouldn't last long, but subs have rules for a reason.

I don't get what the problem is with subs rules, especially IF that sub goes out of their way to cater for those who cannot abide by those rules by explicitly creating spaces where they can still speak freely.

No. I'm saying behave according to the site rules on either site.

Those are...

Do not identify yourself as female - on TRP

Feel free to identify as either sex, or neither - on RPW

Please actively identify yourself as a woman - on MRP

Those are the respective rules of each sub. You should read all the rest before commenting, male or female.

Whats wrong with keeping your mouth shut and learning just HOW males interact with each other in a way few females get to experience ?

You mean, how female-hating men interact with each other. Don't fool yourselves this is how normal men talk.

Lol. Honey, this is how normal men talk when girls aren't listening.

Sure a lot of the guys go really far with it.

But the guys down the pub go really far with it after a few beers too.

You want to see inside the locker room, be our guest. It's a foul and smellly place in a lot of ways, but a lot of fun despite that.

Once you get over the smell of the gym socks, that is.

Well, I'd say most men have an instinctual understanding of some of it. Many more women have a much better understanding of it naturally. Men discover RP and think "well, that explains a LOT", women find it and think "meh, I knew 80% of this already".

But men, RP or not, have a lot of locker room chat you ladies don't see. I know. I was effectively BP for 20 years as an adult. I know how men talk. I'm a man. Seen both sides of RP/BP. I know how men talk "after a few beers and when there are no women in earshot/no ones going to go blabbing to the wives"

You'd take MY word about how WOMEN talk over your personal experience ? Because that's what you are asking me to do. You girls never have a few chats in private that might "shock the delicate sensibilities of the men" ? Can't say for sure, 'cos I'm male, but I'd be surprised.

RP ain't the only men's locker room out there. Men talk different to girls in private.

Asking for special treatment? I would immediately process that as telling me from what perspective the advice is coming from, like any other traits someone would mention with advice. I don't know why you'd pick one particular trait that no longer has the same rules applied to it as every other trait in that scenario.

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because it's a critical issue for TRP. Just as your historian status is a critical issue for ask historians. Like I said above I could start my posts with "So, as a misogynist shitlord I think that..." Over at XX but I wouldn't last long, that's a critical issue for them. I'd attract modding.

Id post on XX with "I think..." And TRP is happy for females to post gender neutral with an "I think..." They just don't want "As a female I think..." Posts.

Given the philosophy, demographics and general locker room tone of the sub (hey, it's where the dicks come out !) that's a wise line for most involved. Anger phase males and argumentative females alike.

TRP is highly critical of females, RPW on the other hand isn't exactly hostile towards males. Women posting on TRP often can't resist to either bite back and make hostile and/or condescending statements, start NAWALTing around, or feel compelled to point out how different they personally are. All bannable offenses.

Now I don't read RPW, but I guess the motivation of men to become either aggressive or overly defensive as a counterreaction is considerably lower than it is for the women at TRP. Also, given the fact that RPW aren't necessarily hostile towards men, I'd assume that the presence of a man is a lot less polarizing there. But you have to ask actual RPWs for that.

That said, I know of one semi-regular female poster at TRP who manages to get by without getting banned and still manages to write decent posts (think /u/bakerofpies and you get an idea - not the same, but she goes in that direction). How does she do that? Well, (1) she doesn't make her gender a subject of debate and only mentions it when it's relevant (f.ex. when she gave an account of how positively her boyfriends reacted to her RPW-style behavior). (2) She doesn't try to "civilize" the men or police their tone when the atmosphere gets heated and misogynic; she's always civil and generally only posts in civil comment threads. Should she be annoyed by the stuff some guys write, she does one hell of a job to not let it get to her.

Well as you said you asked "tried to ask this question" referring to OP you seem to have broken at least 3

New submissions must be related to sexual strategy, events that affect sexual strategy, theories about sexual strategy, or stories confirming (or challenging) current theories of sexual strategy.

No trolling- concern or otherwise.

Bad-mouthing TRP, or any RP sub will result in an immediate ban.

I'm not surprised, after you post that broke three rules called out in the sidebar link titled "Posting Rules!", that you got a nuke.

If I was an RPW mod I'd have nuked you. Breaking one might get a blind eye.... But breaking 3 ? In what was probably a first post ?

You needed to be shown the error of your ways. The mods did the right thing, for their sub.

Did you read the rules before posting your "Why are women banned from TRP but men get plenty of say on RPW?" question ?

I'm guessing......Nope.

OK, well all I had to go on was that you said the question you asked was OP's question.

That IS badmouthing TRP. Women aren't banned.

That IS concern trolling. Which is fine on PPD, but not on RPW.

And it IS NOT related to sexual strategy. I know you've seen other posts like that, but I bet they didn't break two other rules as well.

Are you still surprised mods nuked you ? When you broke three seperate site rules in one post ?

'Cos I'm fucking not.

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My question wasn't about anyone being banned. It was basically asking why they are so welcoming to advice from men while TRP is so unwelcoming to advice from women. I should have probably been specific. It definitely wasn't saying anything bad about TRP.

Ok, obviously mods canned your post for no good reason whatsoever. All site rules were maintained. They just took it into their head to hand out loads of random nukes that day, randomly, to random people, on a random basis, out of sheer we-like-to-be-random-isn't-this-random-shit-fun-iness.

That must suck, eh ?

If listening to men makes them happy, they should. That's all they had to say: "We like men's advice but they don't like women's advice." Instead they stifled the question. I find that interesting, but not surprising.

They aren't. Women are welcome on TRP, they just aren't aloud to flash their gender around as though it gives their opinions more weight. If they contribute something that is true and actually works, TRP will accept their opinions.

TIL that "Tits or GTFO" = welcoming.

You don't know what "Tits or GTFO" is about do you?

You can often tell a person's gender from his/her post history, regardless of whether it is stated directly in a given comment.

Sure, but no one bans someone from TRP for the crime of "being a woman". Heck I post in there every once in a while, and it's obvious to anyone who reads my posting history what gender I am. But, TRP DGAF what gender you are, they only care if you wave it around in order to give your opinion more weight. To TRP it's irrelevant what gender you are, they only care that the things you say are relevant to the discussion.

For example: "I don't think TRP works" is exactly the same statement as "I'm a woman who doesn't think TRP works", but the woman only says that because she thinks her opinion is more valid due to her gender.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I personally usually roll my eyes when I see "male here" on the RPW sub. There are a few regulars who have something worthwhile to say but the majority of guys who comment are not saying anything useful. They get away with it because the sub is still small. If we had as many subscribers as TRP, we would probably have similarly strict rules.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Women could use men telling them what to do. Typically, men have good advice. Sometimes they don't, and those men are removed from RPW.

But 99% of the time women suck at helping men, so they are banned outright from TRP unless they keep their mouths shut about how they are a woman.

EXACTLY. It's just evaluated as advice.

It was men who decided to lock up all the Asians during WW2 because they were totally all Japanese spies. Sound male logic.

um the point of their post was to just point out both genders have made shitty judgment calls. so how is your comment necessary when OP did not deny women are included in the group "both genders"?

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because holding up a single example in order to prove a point is just a shitty debating tactic.

We were debating males being good sources of sexual advice for other males... This was debated against by raising an unrelated scenario implying "men aren't as good as advising as you think, they're human too"

That was a complete mis-direction. So I thought I'd play that game a little too. Neither of our points support or refute the original point. It just illustrates how silly this little part of the convo was.

[–]powerkickPoly, Bi, Blue, Betafag0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Simply that men and women are equally fallible.

[–]TheGreasyPoleObjectively Pro-moderate filth-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, everyones fallible.

However, different sexes would have different "falliability curves".

In general, absent specific information, I'd trust a woman to be a lot less fallible than a man on... say... What tie goes with my suit.

In general, absent specific information, I'd trust a man to be a lot less fallible than a woman on... say... What the best line-up is for the NY Giants on Tuesday night.

The starting comment here was "Men give better advice on male dating than women do". In my experience, thats pretty much nailed it.

I don't think Marie Curies history added to that. But I didn't think Roosevelts decision making about war time scenarios did either.

So I just thought I'd play the "lets be silly game" for a bit and see what popped out.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women could use men telling them what to do. Typically, men have good advice.

Oh I know. Tell me about it. Male doctors used to tell women that their need for orgasm was a state of hysteria. Male doctors told women it was better for them to lie down to have babies (gravity being a silly concept). Male doctors threw practised women out of birthing rooms (midwives) and used their dirty hands to deliver babies (because washing hands is silly) and caused far more babies and women to die in/after childbirth.

These were the expert men who should have had the greatest knowledge about women's bodies. I think women need to go back to relying on men for advice. I mean, it was so good.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I saw Aerobus give this advice to a woman in RPW a few days ago: "You can't really make a plate out of a man, nor should you."

hehehehehehehehehehe that's roll on the floor funny.

I agree with men posting in RPW because they're hilarious.

Women posting in TRP wouldn't provide anywhere near as much entertainment.
