At the suggestion that 'dozens' of people would find this entertaining, since we talk a lot about the veracity of claims for this system, I will embark on a one month long project testing living RPW.

Ground Rules

  • No harassing or bothering RP persons in their own groups. They don't owe me anything. If they choose to help, sure, but the goal of this is not to be annoying or discomfort inspiring.

  • Gentleman's happiness is final, if he gets weirded out the plug gets yanked.

  • Make this a good faith effort. Although I am a naturally snarky person, no half assing things or intentionally doing them wrong.

RPW Challenge Problem #1 - Trying to actually figure out what I'm supposed to do. Despite all the discussion on the subject, a lot of the core RPW information is generally about attitude and generally talks about abstract concepts more so than specific instructions. As such there are going to necessarily be some issues with trying to parse out how one might act RP, and for that I apologize. I'd be happy to have RP persons correct me on what I got wrong.

Keep his balls empty and his belly full - I have the higher libido than him. I don't know whether this counts as an automatic pass or if there's supposed to be some sort of adjustment.

Breakfasts are almost exclusively my responsibility, while he prefers to eat lunch out on work days (I offered to make him food but he doesn't want to stay in the office if he can help it). Our shared responsibility for dinner tends to be 75% of the time I get groceries, 25% of the time he does, while cooking is about 50%- if he's feeling poorly I do all of it, but given his preference he'd rather I only made dinner about 25% of the time because he really enjoys me being impressed with his kitchen skills.

I think it follows that it falls on me to up my kitchen game, be as sexually accommodating as possible, but I'm not going to worry much here unless something changes.

Surrender/submit - I'm a female dominant sexually, but I've received more than one lecture on the subject that I'm only being allowed to do this (as opposed to RPW who don't have any choice?) but while he is a switch, I initiate about 99% of the sex. I'm also more likely to be the dynamic "planner" in our relationship, and he's generally a lot more easy going- he basically has his very personal core I don't muck with and is content to have me drive.

  • Read "The Surrendered Wife" - Put forth as a suggested text by many RPW, its available in kindle for $10.

  • Read the sidebar and most popular RPW posts and try to figure out how it is applicable.

  • Calm the fuck down. I don't argue with Gentleman or nag, but I am extremely high strung and I know this is probably the trait he finds the most annoying about me. Woosah.

  • Try to err on the side of making him the leader rather than the equality we have going on. I don't think I've ever said no any time he made a plan, however I'm more likely to suggest an outing or home improvement project and so on and more likely to assert myself.

MOAR Feminine - Another core part of RPW is that embracing femininity is supposed to be complimentary to Gentleman's natural masculinity. Although I am cis female presenting this might be something I could work with?

  • Makeup, so much makeup. I generally don't wear a lot because I tend to smear it up easily, and I find it slightly irritating to my eyes, but Gentleman likes big black gothy smudgey black and so forth. He also likes wild eccentric colourful hair, so I guess its clip in extensions for me. There may be some going outside my comfort zone at the hair dresser's. :'(

  • Costume, etc... I'm actually pretty stumped here, as my wardrobe is mostly skirts and dresses. I could dial the sexy up to 11, but its also mid-winter in Canada, so everything is pretty much layered knits and space suit style snow gear. My flannel PJs are already Hello Kitty.

  • Smile 'til it hurts. People describe me as a happy, bubbly person. But with so much emphasis on feminity as a demeanor thing, I feel like this has to be poked periodically.

Is there anything I'm missing? Suggestions? Is this a viable test?
