That's really good advice though. One huge mistake a lot of folks make is that they think they will be happy if they have an SO. And at first the NRE really makes them all happy, giddy, and just having a blast. But then it fades as it always does and they go right back to having the exact same problems that they had before.

The advice isn't to just close your eyes and willpower yourself into feeling happy with yourself. It's to change your life and your habits so that you love being you. At that point you'll be content, happy sometimes but you can't be happy all the time. Then finding someone isn't something you do so you can feel happy or hope that your SO will change you but something you do to share your awesome self with.

Rather than taking you're giving the gift of yourself to that lucky girl or guy and building a life together.

Just because it's a new decade, doesn't mean the advice for dating should change.

Some of it is good, but misunderstood.

"Be yourself" doesn't mean:

Keep desperately trying to find someone while being your exact "flawless" self.

It means:

Improve yourself where you can, while keeping to your core values.

I hope people stop asking for advice without posting pics of themselves. I know there's privacy issues, but it's super important to upload even blurred pics cause I believe at least 50% of relationship problems stem from people letting themselves go physically.

That being selected for a LTR is somehow superior than being selected for casuall. Ideally , most men will realize this and strictly chase short term without giving in to the demands of LTR. Probably not good for repopulation but its the only way to play imo.
