How do you deal with NVM who cat call you or make disgusting comments in the street?

Ignore and go about your business. Pay them no attention as that's what they way.

I usually just look disgusted and walk away. I used to get angry in the past but I’m actually afraid of being followed and murdered (I’ve been followed before) so I until I can get my concealed-carry permit, I just ignore them and get to a safe location as soon as possible.

I don’t walk in their direction.

I do an immediate turn and hope they go away. I’ll also stick my face in my phone and call someone to chat (to get my mind off of things).

It’s shakes me too. It took me awhile to calm down after the last time it happened.

I completely ignore them. I act as though I heard nothing, if they're in my field of vision I look through them as though they don't exist.

This pisses some of them off, sometimes it gets a little scary so I only do this when there are other people nearby to help if those scumbags try anything.

Walk on by. I know it can be difficult to ignore it because you feel like you're letting them get away with it. But it's not your job to correct that behavior and confronting them could put you in danger. I rarely have things shouted at me. It tends to be a whisper or a leer. So I've just learned to move to the side and avoid walking close enough for a guy to get the opportunity to lean in to say whatever is rattling through his brain.

What do you think they want when they catcall you? Attention? Then give them the opposite. Ignore them.

I dont know if its safe, but I've seen videos where women have asked men if they'd talk to their mother/sister that way or if they'd like a man to talk to their relatives like that. I've also seen one where woman told the guy she was looking for a dad for her several children and started aggressively asking for his number.

Most of the time i don't notice, because i am always listening to music.

However one time two sleazy looking guys were walking toward me and obviously planning to say something (like they were poking eachother while pointing at me and smirking etc.) and when they were finally close, they said something, which i didn't hear but i took the headphones out of my ears and told them the time while politely smiling.

Their faces were priceless 😁

Tell them: “omg stop speaking about your own mother like that”, or “oh yeah? Like what your mom does online?” it’s how a man would respond to being antagonised that way. Only if there’s witnesses around though and you can be sure he can’t follow you 👀

Depends if they are acquaintances, randoms, or if they are joking.

If you are walking by then ignoring them is probably best, makes them look like idiots.

If they are acquaintances in your group then maybe the same honestly. If it kept going on then I'd say something.
