Yes, chess is very much segregated, I have raised this question before, but why? If women are so 'smart' why there is only one woman in top 100 chess players in current rating list.
GM Nigel Short once indicated that, women are weak in strategical thinking, weak in assessing positions. He was mercilessly attacked by feminazis and labeled as 'misogynist'.
Even with 'special training program' the Polgars failed to achieve the desired goal.

So what? You know how many hypertalented male players have failed to become champions for one reason or another? The list is very, very long. Winning or not winning the world championship doesn't make or break your chess career or legacy. It is an unbelievably hard to reach echelon but it's not something that will invalidate your career if unaccomplished.
Women aren't attracted to mental/intellectual games such as chess. It's biology. Also, as someone else mentioned here, Nigel Short has mentioned that women aren't as good as men when it comes to spatial reasoning and strategy, which is in essence what chess demands to be good at. The only other good female player to have cracked it to the top at the moment is the Chinese Hou Yifan, a literal chess prodigy as well, just like Polgar.
Look man, I'm as mgtow as anyone else here, but this nitpicking of Polgar --easily one of the greatest players in the history of the game-- just makes you look like an angry child. Stop, take a deep breath, and realize that becoming world champion is a unique milestone and very, very few men in the history of the game have accomplished that. It not only requires talent, but determination, temperance, fortitude, and resilience. Some players have some of the attributes, some have it all (i.e. Carlsen). Point remains the same: to judge Polgar like you do because she didn't win a championship makes you look really silly to say the very least.

Like Viktor Korchnoi (qualified for the match but lost four times). You could make a case that Garry Kasparov narrowly avoided a similar fate: on his first match against Anatoly Karpov, he got crushed 5-0 (the first one to get 6 wins would be the World Champion), and after a gruesome climb to 5-3, the match got cancelled and restarted; to this day people speculate if a loss 6-0 to his hated Soviet rival would have aborted his brilliant chess career.

Indeed, thank you for bringing up Korchnoi. A few other names that come to mind are Leko, Ivanchuk (this case is tragic as he hasn't even qualified to a championship match, but in recent times became the champ in the rapid time control), Salov, and in more recent times Karjakin himself has tried to but but hasn't been able to beat Carlsen.
Becoming the world champ in chess is incredibly difficult and many incredible players never even make it to a championship match.

To give you some context, take the following into consideration: 1) only the top 50 players get actually paid to play the game most of the time; 2) among the top 100 players, each few points a player earns and each spot in the ranking they achieve upwards implies increments in skill and talent per spot the player achieves (in other words, the difference between number the top 10 and the top 30, for example, is very significant, so making it to the top 8, let alone the top 10 or 20 is an incredible feat in itself in a field where Kasparov, Karpov, Kramnik, Leko, Adams, Anand, and others were also at their best and still dominating).

High achievers aren't typically normal and well adjusted. That being said, her achievements are her achievements with or without her other qualities. Chess is an objective win or lose binary, as such the outcome is the only metric we need measure.
She may well be a chess machine that is the product of child abuse and a total bitch as a result of that. Doesn't change that she ranks as she does. If she considers the women's league to be a waste of her time then that's her choice. I can certainly sympathise with the other poster's view, I too am pleased when a women STFUs and simply does the work without using her vagina for an excuse.

Judit Polgar was not a histrionic player. If anything she took a lot of shit from players like Kasparov and didn't make a fuss about it because she knew it would be bad for her emerging career. Point in case:

You make MGTOW men look bad. Lazlo Polgar was more of a psychologist and educator than he was a chess teacher. His daughters became his research when he set himself out to demonstrate that children could excel at anything if taught correctly from an early stage in their lives. I don't know how that would hold today since the Polgars are a family of Hungarian Jews if I'm not mistaken with clearly high IQs. I don't think this would work on every children but it worked on his.
All his daughters became very proficient chess players and out of the three Judit became the best. Susan Polgar now is an internationally renowned chess coach and works for Webster University, where she is coaching what could be the future generations of American chess GMs.
Now my question for you is, please explain what's histrionic about Judit Polgar? She is one of the most modest, and talented chess players in the history of the game and your bitching and whining makes you look like a woman. Step up your game and quit being an ignorant whiny bitch yourself.
For additional context: she cracked the top 10 of the chess universe during a period of intense emotional and psychological distress. She had just miscarried her baby with her veterinary husband to whom she's still married to this day if I'm not mistaken. In further interviews she explained that the only thing that kept her afloat during those months and years was chess and that it was no surprise to her that it was her best period as a chess player. But as a human being it was also her worst. She has been quoted frequently as saying that yes, women are able to compete as hard as her but it's a matter of dedication and commitment that she says not many women are able or want to follow through to reach the top of the chess world like she did.
I, however, don't see any woman ever reaching the very top of the chess world and become #1 or a champion. That'd be unreal if it ever happened.

Forgot to mention. There's this story that Polgar tells, I think it was during a Tata Steel Tournament where she did extremely well that Vishy Anand came to her and briefly told her "You're one of us" as a way to acknowledge her skill and prowess in the game. I am not sure if at the time Anand was already a world champion or was on his way to become one, but he's certainly one of the greatest in the game and Polgar has beat many in either classical, blitz or rapid controls.

I’m a huge esports player, have even had expenses covered to compete.
All eSports suffer from this same “problem.”
The “lack” of women.
The truth is, eSports at the end of the day is still a sport.
It takes a tremendous amount of muscle memory, hand-eye coordination, reaction time, and critical “on the fly” thinking.
All things that men are biologically better than women at. Backed by science.
A woman can be exceptionally talented at a video game compared to the typical gamer who doesn’t spend much time on the game.
But when it starts coming down to the top 1%, hell, even the top 10% of talent, that’s where you’ll rarely ever see a female.
They just aren’t biologically there to go toe to toe with men. Not at at physical sports, and not at mental acuity type sports.

I assume there were qualifying rounds. And I don’t think anyone has ever claimed that gaming setups cater to males more than females. So isn’t this an example where the only competitive difference is the mind and I guess reaction time (assuming no technological advantages). I used to play lots of online multiplayer games... the number of female players was quite high, especially in games like WoW. But the number of good female players was tiny... very rare.

Women don't excel at anything that requires dedication, relentless practice, long hours, and intense focus. They just can't concentrate for long enough to get anywhere in any area that requires these traits. Besides the biological reasons. Gamers from my knowledge are much better young due to reflexes.
A lot of young guys as we know are frozen out of the dating market, there not getting invited to chads parties. Therefore, they play lots of video games.
Woman on the other hand are at parties are in the dating game. They waste a ton of time on social media and therefore don't play as much games. This i suspect compounds the "problem".
