I'll encourage them to weigh the pros and cons of going to college versus working lucrative blue-collar jobs. I'd rather plant ideas in their heads and let them make their own decisions than make their decisions for them.

FWIW, my college experience was worth it, pretty much mandatory given that I wanted to go into a STEM field. Lot of the other majors though probably are a waste of money/time especially if you're not gaining any transferable skills (i.e. gender studies etc).

My son just graduated HS this year. He got a job a week later making $17/hr. It's a blue collar job that requires being outdoors and working with other blue collar men. He love it and started next week he's going to be making $25/hr because he's worked his ass off and earned it. He's all of 18 years old. His entire time in HS all his teachers, councilors, and other adults made him out to be an idiot for not wanting to go to college to get a "good job". Now while his classmates are going into debt every day and smoking weed on campus, he's in a union and putting time it towards a pension.

Nobody respects blue collar work anymore. Everyone thinks a kid is supposed to go to college and then get a cush office job making 6 figures. That's just not reality but good luck convincing anyone in the primary school system. The funny thing was, all these teachers preaching the virtues of college degrees make not more than 40K/year in my state and only after they've been working for close to 20 years. Most start out making less than my son did a week after he got out of HS.

I'm on the fence, on the one hand my college/university experience tells me it's not worth it. Because unless you can pick the right major you are screwed, and sure shots that earlier guaranteed cash now produce the unemployed.

On the other hand, without a degree a lot of people in the bureaucracy treat you like shit. Seen that a lot as a working class kid. To them blue collar means subhuman.

The only thing that can save you from University indoctrination is alcohol and heavy partying like Andrew Brietbart.. Jokes aside a lot of us woke up from our university education and had to relearn the world and are still relearning the world.

To answer your question you only have so much influence over your children. So it's really their problem. However we as the Red Pill eventually have to start creating parellel institutions. That's really the only way foward.

You do what you are good at first. If you are not good at STEM don't go into that field, you will never make much money.

Once you choose a field of study: you play the game. Regurgitate their bullshit enough to get the grade you need and focus on your real major.

Develop a circle of friends and hobbies.

For US based students: Take advantage of every scholarship you can, go to community colleges for crap subjects that can transfer over. For those that want to risk it: GI Bill.

Don't shit where you eat and hookup with girls from your school so you dodge the title IX Kangaroo courts.

Graduate with the lowest cost you can profit.

Don't send your kids to leftist cesspools like Berkeley, Harvard, etc.
Don't send your kids to schools that cost 40k/yr in tuition.
Don't send your kids to schools that take your tuition money and use it to subsidize illegal aliens' tuition or spend it on SJW initiatives.
Don't let your kid study useless fucking disciplines like gender studies or psychology.
Make them study something that yields tangible results, has a job market, and if they are passionate about a non-earning field let them minor in it.
Inculcate a strong mental fortitude and viscous questioning attitude that is resilient to the illogical, sheep-brainwashing tactics that the leftist indoctrination centers use.
Teach them to find islands of truth in the sea of lies.

A lot of us were RedPilled by being force fed bullshit so it's not a total loss to let the idiots espouse their hare brained tripe. In a sense, it separates the wheat (RP) from the chaff (BP).

Easy, you do it yourself. The only career you should even be considering that "requires" college is a STEM field. Anything else won't redeem its investment cost and will just leave you as a young adult starting way behind the curve.

So assuming a STEM career do you:

Spend tens or hundreds of thousand dollars on a heavily diluted STEM education mixed with irrelevant, useless, or liability subject matters and burn eight years of your life in the process? Hit those math and or science books hard yourself, mix with other subjects that have direct life applications or personal interest and skip the useless shit like gender studies?

This is much easier if you're pursuing a job you can learn through direct hands on experience, for example building carpentry, cars, computers... Even if you completely fuck your lessons and break the parts you should be building with you'll still come out way ahead on time and money. Added bonus: While you're a "student" you can work at cutrate prices meaning you start making some money right away and get more practical learning opportunities.

When colleges start being about education again instead of deeducation this might change but as it is now I wouldn't give them money even if they were useful.

Important note: College tuition costs were reasonable until: 1: The government started backing student loans. 2: Arms escalation started even on grunt work jobs making degrees "required" instead of exceptional.

Also note that because of the above you should consider independent work if you get any trouble about not having a piece of paper or would rather keep more than about 5-10% of the money you generate through your own work efforts. It also improves and requires self motivation, traits any Man should have.

If I ever have kids, I would encourage them to seek out higher education but let them know it's not the end/all be/all of career success in this world. That there's plenty of value and merit in the trades too.

If they're dead set on what they want to do with their life and I see it throughout their high school years, I might be supportive of them attending an expensive private college that's prestigious for their field of study. If they still have a ways to go or they're not too sure but did well in high school making honor roll and stuff.. I'd highly recommend state college. If they were never a studious type but they recognize that they need higher education to get places in the world, community college.. Go for a year and if they do well transfer for a bachelor's, but if they're not feeling it.. Just stick it out and get some kind of professional certification like EMT, paralegal, police academy (my local CC has police academy there), or an IT certification.

Also, some people are "uncommon" and go off the beaten path. When I was 17 I played in a heavy metal band and we went on tour and stuff around America, Europe, and Canada. When we werent on the road or playing gigs, I worked at a local pizza place delivering pizzas which was enough to pay rent and have some money in the bank. We weren't weren't rockstars or anything but we still did it and made money (not a lot mind you, not anymore than cooking at a restaurant looking at the grand scheme of things). But it was my dream as a teenager and fuck if I was going to throw that away to go sit in a classroom with a bunch of normies.

But after that ended, I'm in college now in my senior year at 28. Really glad I started school later cause I felt like I wasn't mature enough to buckle down on my studies and it would've been a waste of time.

I really think education is important. I will always urge my kids to seek it out. I see how some people think of colleges as "liberal indoctrination centers" but I've had some very interesting discussions in college where I challenged other peoples' beliefs, they challenged mine etc.. Even spoke to a feminist chick about how much of a farce "college girl feminism" seems to me and she didn't bite my head off for it. I'm actually a pretty conservative guy but can agree to disagree with people on things and have never felt that I have to adopt the group mentality in a classroom. Never had my grade lowered (except maybe once by a real angry lesbian cunt) for expressing ideas outside the group mentality.

Also, the social environment. Colleges always have a ton of hot educated women from good families. More than the working class townie shithole you grew up in where most of the girls are "FULL TIME SINGLE MOMMY!" raising a kid named "Aiden" by the time they're 25. If you go to college and make good connections with your profs, you'll learn a lot of male profs can be pretty redpill outside the gender/gay studies departments. Fuck, even some female profs I've had have more balls than some guys I know IRL.

I know a lot of guys who paid off their student loans within 10 years of graduating college. It's not impossible. One of those friends got a degree in "game design" from a no-name college. He actually worked on video games for a bit but got sick of the fickle nature of the business/employee relationship and got into coding apps. I have another friend who paid off his art school student loans and works as a conservationist in museums and gets flown all over the world to do this kind of work.

Most of my friends back home who never pursued college are now alcoholics and drug addicts sitting at dead end jobs in retail, low level office work, or construction, divorced, generally just stupid, and under-developed and un-cultured as people. Do you want your kid to grow up like that? Forever in their little suburban safespace comfort zone?

Take on the debt if you need to. What else are you going to do? Stock groceries shelves til you die? Real men are willing to take ballsy risks to better their situations. I'm gonna be about 70k in the hole once I complete my BFA at art school and it's totally worth it to me. I'm all ready beginning to see a little bit of success in my field in my senior year of college. Feels good getting paid to do what you love.

Just make sure the debt is reasonable compared to the anticipated salary and that he has the necessary aptitude and interest. I’d also tell him that if he’s not 100% sure of his choice to keep the amount of debt small relative to an average persons salary. That way if he doesn’t like it he has the freedom to pursue something else.

Just make sure your kids don't make unreasonably expensive choices. The local state school is likely just as good as that fancy private liberal arts college.

And take advantage of opportunities that present themselves -- my son was offered a full ride by Alabama -- he hadn't previously considered them but the deal was too good to pass up. So even though he'd been accepted at other institutions off to Tuscaloosa he went (Roll Tide).

Honestly, if you're really smart, go into STEM, law, or medicine and excell; if you're anything shy of the top 5-10% in IQ, go into the trades, invest while you're young, and relax. Don't think that with your 90-100 iq you'll ever be anything but shit in STEM, you won't get into a good law school or med school, and your life will fucking suck.

I would send my kids to college if it meant they could mix with an elite community for the purpose of long term networking. That my child had the talent in order to take advantage of this as well. Plenty of people go to Harvard and don't come out with this.

That, or if they had the chops for professional training. No matter how the world goes to shit, society can always use a doctor or an engineer.

Otherwise, it's a waste of money and a great way to become a debt slave.

Online education is cheap, and can provide you with everything a university can short of:

Networking

A degree (About 80% of which are useless for how much they cost)

Professional designation

It really depends on the state of academia in ~22 years (which is probably about when my hypothetical kids would be reaching that age, if I ever have kids.)

Higher education in the US is completely dysfunctional for a number of reasons, and there's no political will to fix it right now, on either side of the aisle. That being said, getting that fucking piece of paper called a "diploma" is still immensely valuable as a signaling mechanism, and so here in 2017 I still think going to college is worthwhile if you can do so without accruing a mountain of debt. Will that still be the case in the late 2030s? I have my doubts; I'm not sure higher ed will even exist in the form in does now. But we'll see.

Yes, I would want them to go the cheapest university they can still get a good education at. For most people, that's going to be your state university. I would only pay for their education if they got it in something useful. STEM or nursing are undergrad degrees that come to mind off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are others.

Send them to a trade/tech school. In 2 years or so they'll have their own business and/or be able to work at their own discretion and be in male spaces.

They can visit the local liberal arts college/uni for frat parties and socializing only by making friends from those schools. Keep the work and play separate, all while avoiding the ultimate SJW cuckspawn gyno machine that is the average college.

College or trade school. Whichever is more functional to not only their needs and desires, but also whether they know what they want or not.

College and Trade schools are incredibly effective for those who know exactly what they want to be. Unfortunately there aren't trade schools for all majors/paths.

Having gone to college right out of highschool, I would've benefited from going to JC to determine what I really wanted and mature somewhat before going to blow 50k a year in college loans fucking around.

In reality I feel that being an effective father, if you do decide to have kids, is much more important in helping to determine if your kids flounder or have direction.

The education system in the USA(where I live) is so dysfunctional socially and academically that if you have the ability to do so you should homeschool your kids to be successful and directed from the start. Private schools are useful in finding a balance, because, socially, homeschool kids can end up really fucking weird if you aren't careful.

Before the internet was a legitimate option, but the United States under Obama gave the rights to the internet to a non-elected UN organization at the end of his term. Now the internet will be censored and completely used for propaganda in the next few generations. Proper homeschooling and choosing the intructors wisely is encouraged (there are websites for this). Also, I would recommend purchasing the books that you know will be outlawed 5-25 years down the line immediately, as to not be completely shut out from your light in a global technocracy.
