I hope it's a true story.

I've seen this kind of behavior from women firsthand, though the last time I saw it the guy didn't handle it nearly as well. Dude I used to work with at a minimum wage job was telling me he was done with women after his last breakup. I told him about MGTOW and he said it wasn't really his cup of tea. A week later, he's getting texts from this girl he used to know from high-school that friend-zoned him. Her fiance just broke it off with her and, amazingly, this allowed her to discover that she still had "feelings" for my coworker. Naturally, the next day he drove across the state to get her and her things, and he let her move in to his tiny apartment no questions asked. I met her once, and I could tell she was there only because he was the most readily available option and she didn't want to work even a little. She was just a totally distant blank slate glued to her phone.

A month later she's pregnant. Now my coworker is stuck with her family that hates him deeply, a minimum wage job that can barely support a college drop-out and much less a girlfriend and a baby, and a lazy chick that refuses to put in any effort whatsoever. He's suffering right now in ways I don't like to ponder.

Poor guy, I gave him a beautiful little five-letter secret to success, and he rejected it without a second thought and went right back to royally fucking up his life for the sake of pussy. Oh well, he can't say I didn't warn him.

Case in point:

I remember the first woman I seriously "asked out". We were in a church group together in highschool. We dated for 2 weeks. She dumped me Thanksgiving day saying "you're just too nice".

Fast forward a year, I run into her again. She had welts on her arm. Her then-boyfriend had been putting her crucifix on the hot stove, and branding her with it.

Fast forward 2 years, she's with an even worse guy, and she's doing drugs.

Fast forward to today: I just looked her up on Facebook out of curiosity. It's not a pretty picture. The Wall has not been kind to her: Guess I dodged a bullet.

This sub popped up on my top feed and, while I empathize with what many of you are feeling as a guy who used to have trouble, I can’t help but wonder if what you are looking for in the world isn’t caused by these outside sources.

You can be nice, and also assertive and get what you want. The asshole dudes you complain about are just dudes that stir emotion in women that may also happen to be assholes. Being nice doesn’t equal doing things for a hope of return, that’s manipulation my dudes.

You can go out there, and fucking conquer and be the men you want to be, and date someone you want to be with, and not be a piece of shit. But maybe work on yourselves, life isn’t out to get you and neither are women, life doesn’t care at all, about you or anyone, it just goes on.
