Summary:

Asking a Woman “Why” Is An Exercise in Futility

Body:

When I reflect on my transformation from Blue Pill to Red Pill, one of the things I realize that I almost never do now is to ask a woman “why”; to explain her actions, her motivations, the reasons why she does certain things.

When I was a blue pill chump in high school, my girlfriend cheated on me with a star football player from a rival high school. After I found out, my first impulse was to call her and demand that she tell me why she cheated. Looking back, the response I got was predictable. She fed me some bullshit about how I wasn’t giving her enough of my time, I didn’t care enough about her needs, blah, blah. I now realize that she simply branch swung to a guy with a faster 40-yard dash time and better chance of playing pro ball. At the time though, I was naïve enough to believe that I could actually learn the truth by asking her “why”.

In the recent post “I Accidentally Slept With a Guy”, a woman volunteered to OP an explanation for why she fucked another guy. According to her, it was an “accident” and had nothing to do with the fact that she was attracted to the guy, invited him to her place and was drinking to lower her inhibitions. In this case, her explanation of “why” resulted in a litany of rationalizations to assuage her own guilt and had nothing to do with the truth.

Here are some reasons that you shouldn't ask a woman “why”.

They Really Don’t Know "Why"

Ask a man why he did something and he can review his thought process for making a decision and tell you why he did it. Women can’t do the same for most of their decisions because they are driven by emotion, not reason.

If They Know “Why”, They Probably Won’t Tell You

See “I Accidentally Slept With a Guy”. Because of female hypoagency and natural impulse to protect their fragile egos from feelings of guilt, admitting and taking responsibility for a painful truth is not something that’s usually in a woman’s psychological makeup. Asking “why” will usually just result in hearing lies or trickle truths.

Asking “Why” Places You in the Woman’s Frame

Asking a woman “why” is an open invitation for her to emote and engage you in a conversation that’s outside of a masculine, rational frame. Women have mastered the art of playing to men’s natural sympathetic instincts towards them. How many times do women cry and declare themselves to be victims when confronted with the truth of their misbehavior? How many women appeal to white knights to bail them out in these situations? Asking a woman “why” just creates an opportunity for her to twist the conversation into an emotional exchange that favors her so she can shift blame to you.

You Don’t Need to Know “Why”

Just get the facts and hold her accountable for her actions. If she cheats, confirm it then next her. If she does something outside of the established boundaries of the relationship, find out what she did and enforce the boundaries. Don’t worry about “why”, focus on “what”: what she did and what you’ll do about it.
