I’ve never used kik, but I heard lots of people use it to hookup / sext with strangers. So I think the reasons could be:

he’s on kik all the time, possibly sending dicpics, so he responds to kik messages faster because he has that app on all the time
he wants to send you inappropriate messages but he feels reluctant to do that over text

I only use WhatsApp, but that's because I'm in a dead zone in my apartment. My text messages either take weeks to send/receive or they never do. And when they finally get through, the conversation is over and they make no sense to the current conversation (because I can still send and receive messages when I'm not home). It's just easier for me.

Passive aggressive? Red flag and relationship no- go. And only wants to use kik? Def has a wife. Texting shows up in your billing records with details but kik only registers as data use. It's absolutely a red flag.

I have used kik before. 90% of the user base are married or in a relationship looking for side action. If I found out a guy I was dating was on kik I would run.

Oh my word. He is definitely talking to other women on kik. It’s notorious for sexting tbh and online distance relationships. I would dump. I didn’t even know what this app was until I found my ex on it. He super denied that he was on it until I found him lmao

Also the guy you are seeing probably has a girlfriend/wife. His excuse makes no sense
