Dead bedrooms stem from partners not liking each other in some ways, being forced to have sex with your partner whenever they want it is not going to solve the problem. In fact, it could exacerbate the core issues within their marriage.

Yeah, no. I get (I guess) that she's talking more about what she expects to give her husband than what she expects from him, but men aren't the only victims in a dead bedroom. I've been with MANY men who either 1) didn't please me, or 2) had low LOW sex drives.

There's this weird trope that women are always shrews and "not right now, I have a headache" but I've never once turned down sex and I've been turned down plenty in relationships because men "have headaches" (more likely they jerked it too much that day, haha). I have a super religious cousin that has parroted this line to me, about how in a healthy Christian marriage your bodies belong to each other. Nice in theory (I guess? At least it sounds equal? Personally I think it’s creepy to “own” anyone’s body like that) but it doesn’t play out like this in practice. You only have to look at the stats on rape and intimate partner violence to know that it’s a raw deal for women. If you read this passage in the original Koine Greek (the language the New Testament bible was written in) and have an understanding of the Old Testament Hebrew, you quickly realise that this interpretation of the scriptures is very wrong and is shaped more from patriarchy than from the actual Ancient Greek and Hebrew words.
