My best friend (who is normally so wonderful and capable but has a weak spot for her LVM husband because “she put in so much work in her twenties”) just finished telling me that she was able to get him to fold a load of towels for the first time ever after she mixed them in with his laundry and then reminded him that they had discussed him helping out because his initial reaction was “why should I have to fold the towels, you added them to my load”. And she was so proud, that she had managed to get him to do one tiny thing after doing the other 85%, and having to remind him that he’d agreed to try to be a better husband (and this was only because he’s already fucked UP, she should have dumped him a year ago when she found out but “so much work”.) She got super defensive and started walking it back when I was like wtf, he told you it wasn’t his fucking job?!? Fuck. That. 🤢
