I suppose only I can decide this, but I am curious if any of you have had a heart to heart talk with your partners, for him to finally understand, make changes, and if those changes have stuck?

After I posted last, I told my LVM boyfriend he needed to move out. I didn't say I wanted to break up with him, but that I needed space from him. I told him I couldn't give him any more chances because I was too burnt out from the many other times we have had similar fights. I let him stay in my guest room until his exams were over, and he was supposed to start looking for new places to move to last week.

He has completely changed, from going out to buy my favorite cake, cleaning the house, doing home repairs I had asked him to do months ago, cooking meals, volunteering to help me when needed, etc. I felt really guilty about all this, and told him that I couldn't be as receptive to all these sweet gestures right now, and that I needed distance from him. He said he understood, but has been consistently doing these things in the last week (yeah, yeah, I know, it's just a week).

I don't feel romantically inclined toward him any more, and am pissed that he WAS capable of doing these things. He just didn't want to until I asked him to move out.

My question to you ladies is have any of your partners made lasting changes after a near breakup?
