Why it's important to date multiple guys

I used to be a one person at a time woman and couldn’t imagine anything else. And then I’d wonder why I’d get attached so quickly (lots of reasons for that that I was blind to, but one being I would throw myself into one person). Now I will take it slow with different people because like you, more often than not, they aren’t HV, or there’s simply nothing there between us and won’t ever be.

You don't necessarily have to date multiple guys. The underlying reason FDS encourages you to date non-exclusively at first is that it is a mechanism to keep you from investing too much in any one person. If you can do that some other way, that's also fine.

For example, I just don't like juggling men. I'm also super picky so it's rare for me to meet multiple men at once that I'm even interested in seeing. I just don't let any one man take up too much space. I'm busy with a packed schedule, and I like lots of me time, so it can be difficult to get dates on the calendar anyway. It's almost a hassle, so a guy really has to shine right from the start.

But 100% your last point, always vet! Good on you for doing it right, look how much garbage you just passed on!

dang sorry to hear that. i've been helping someone close to me with this too encouraging them to multi date and they had similar results except these dudes weren't taken just lvm. i was so happy for her bc obviously it sucks too but it would have been sooo much worse if she was just focusing on the one. it really is the best strategy.

Truth. I have a terrible habit of getting way too invested way too quickly. This is the rule in FDS that makes the most sense to me.

How do you suggest dating multiple people at once on top of work/education/friends/family responsibilities? I feel like I’d forget all of the guys and a HVM would see me as a LVW for forgetting aspects of our conversations.
