Studies have shown that men (moreso than women) will leave a relationship / marriage when their partner gets sick. Not to mention the high rate that they abandon their family/parental responsibilities. This is why it's so important to not settle for LVM!

The sad truth is that a woman's friends and female relatives are more likely to be counted on to support her in a situation like this than her spouse/partner. Even if it is the husband who gets sick.

Let's just imagine a couple named John and Jane with two kids. Let's say one of them gets sick and the other has to care for them and the kids. You can basically count the minutes until female relatives and Jane's friends and female neighbors show up with a casserole and offer help, like watching the kids, helping in the house, going shopping etc. You can also bet that John's male friends, the male relatives and male neighbors will never show, unless they are dragged along by their wives, or that the idea to offer to help out even occurs to them. It's how they are socialized.

Just one example of my dad being a HVM is how he supported my mom through her cancer treatments and bought her a luxury vehicle to celebrate when it was all over.

Don't settle for someone who won't do that for you, ladies.

I’ll never forget my ex yelling at me because I couldn’t clean the toilets and do laundry when I fell down a flight stairs and had to undergo surgery for multiple broken bones. Never underestimate men.

This happened to my daughter's friend. Her dad left her mom when she developed Fibromyalgia, and he found himself a younger woman in the process.
They were a very financially successful couple, they co-owned half of a very large British city and multiple spots in different countries. She couldn't deal with her health issues and divorce, so she settled for a measly buy-out that I'm still shocked ANY Judge would have allowed. I'm divorcing at the moment, and I keep hearing over and over how a Judge won't allow skewed financial or asset splits without reason - and yet it happened to this woman.

She gave up her life for him, her kids and their property business and she regrets it to this day. He bailed on her the moment she needed a cane to walk. 25 years spent with a shape-shifting demon. Ugh.

I'm lost for words to even try to describe the contempt I feel for a human being that not just splits up with their wife while she is hospitalized but who leaves the complete family with two kids at such a devastating time and has the audacity to use his daughter as a messenger.

Took time to be grateful that my engagement (to a lvm) ended when I had health issues snowball my final year of university but damn do I appreciate not being stuck in ultra-pick-me mindset just because I felt less deserving for having a ‘lemon’ of a young body. Seen countless times ... wife is in hospital and husband has an affair on the side lined up to swoop in once the wife passes. Often times I assume the other women too is in on it ... which is shameful pickme behaviour.

Don't date incompetent men who can't take responsibility over a household/kids. Probably the largest indicator he will leave once times get tough and he has responsibility for once *eyeroll*

How does someone spend 19 years with someone and leave them like this? Are men capable of love? I've seen men who spend forever lamenting ex girlfriends who had the courage to leave them, while simultaneously treating their actual girlfriends like garbage. This man left his wife of 19 years who stayed with him the entire time and wasted all her money and talent on him. I'd understand if simply don't experience genuine love for women if they were like this with all of them, but they seem so prone to pining over exes that it's like, is it just women who aren't interested in them? It's utterly degrading.

If Christian women didn’t have “God” to lean on and put their faith in, they would be in a state of emotional meltdown at all times.

I feel like this is both a bad thing and a good thing- because it maintains the delusion and keeps the woman in her oppressed position, but it also lessens the blow and gives her hope towards a better future.

This is why I would never date a man who doesn’t do anything. You become a maid. A life manager to this man. You’re his servant.

Of course he’d leave his servant when they’re sick. He doesn’t love his servant. He loves what his servant does for him

If he won’t cook, clean, or take care of me first then it is goodbye. I’d do the same for him, but you can’t do that first for men because they’ll get the wrong idea. He needs to demonstrate that he wants the relationship and that he’s capable of maintaining it in ways that matter
