Um.. I.. I usually don't comment.. but the way the school referred to here just implied that females can't be abusers or that males can't be abused..; that notion itself sickens me. And to top it all.. just assuming someone(who's male smh) to be an abuser just coz his dad was..? Whole 30minute basically full period lecture. All about women and eating disorders. I'm sitting next to the kid with a LEGIT eating disorder and one of my best friends has body disphoria. Blows my mine man. Teacher was a really feminist always trying to fit feminism in which i totally agreed with til that day. She did a little science/mental health thing about women only. Never one on men. I can't imagine any school had the inverse of that. Fucking wow

There is irony here in case you didn"t catch it. I believe that gaslighting like this is often buried in these kinds of outreach programs. The irony is that telling people a "fact" about themselves (boys of abusers will become abusers) is, in itself, a common manipulative and abusive tactic used to infiltrate the mind of a person. Tell them enough times, and they'll believe it. So unfortunate that a seminar on abuse also includes gaslighting as abuse during a sad presentation highlighting a victim. Remember that the number one tactic of a predator is to bring you in with pity. Not saying that lady was a predator, but predators do do this.

Seems about right. My school teachers branded me as drug abuser without any evidence. Only because they enabled my dad to humiliate me for failing chemistry when there was no chemistry teacher in school, my grades started diminishing after that because of the shame. Right after that they started spreading that rumor. They even searched my bag when I was somewhere else. The last two years in high school made me miserable.

We had a similar thing, these social justice speakers came in and they were teaching us about white & male "privilege". We didn't have enough seats so they told the male students to go to the next-door classroom and bring in extra seats, there weren't enough seats so they made male students sit on the floor and let the female students sit in the seats that the male students had to carry. Then during their talk they said all regardless of whether you think you aren't, all White people are racist, so I asked the speaker if he was racist and he was like "uhh.. umm.. well" lmao

Yup similar thing happened at my school, except it was about rape, they basically pulled all the men aside and told them they are inherently rapists and terrible people meanwhile the women got a seminar on how to survive rape.... there was a boy in my class who had been molested by a family member growing up and he had to sit through a Fuckin seminar about how HE is going to be a rapist

That's pretty much exactly how I felt every day of school, 20+ years ago. We had "gender studies" class which was just a class where we heard about how awful men were and how innocent girls were. Then we had "social studies" which was basically dominated by feminist "man bad/woman good" stuff. Then we had our school seminars where we all heard about how awful boys were and how if we'd just be more like girls the world would be a better place.

Not quite as serious as this, but super fucking petty.

Sophomore year of highschool, there was a program where all the sophomores would have to come in half an hour early certain Fridays and listen to a speaker, it was a leadership thing I think but it really isn’t important to the story. One of these speakers was a female teacher from the school and, being teenagers having to come in early in a Friday, some of the class was quietly talking among each other and completely ignore ing her. Apparently this group was entirely boys and the teacher jumped to some completely unreasonable conclusions. The next time we had one of these speakers, the boys and girls were separated. The boys were put in groups of 6-8 and we all had discussions about how we might, intentionally or unintentionally interrupt girls, smother them, or in other ways, keep them from participating in conversion in or out of school. The girls were put in similarly sized groups and asked to talk about any times they were frustrated that the boys had interrupted them or ignored them. Someone no one, in the entire group of people that came up with this brilliant idea, though that this was blatantly sexist until the vast majority of the groups, both the boys and girls, said something along those lines to the teachers running each group. As far as I’m aware, nothing like it ever happened again, but I specifically avoided any classes taught by that teacher who instigated it

One of the important lesson I learned is how/why the founding fathers declared independence from the UK: the sins of the father is not the sins of the sons.

What is being taught and constantly propagated is the fallacy of men as abusers. It’s one of the sexists idea being shove down the students psyche to brainwash the younger generation. Not to mention the hypocrisy of SJW and MSM claiming to be the mouthpiece of equality.

They made it sound like the girls where special and always the victim. Statistically, that Gloria Steinem wannabe may be correct. Abused children often become abusive themselves. Just like other bad traits we get from our parents. Certainly not all will, and I'd like to think that a significant percentage of abused kids who grow up realizing how horrible that is choose to be better people than their abusers.

Another prime example of social engineering and the pussification of America. Started in the 60's with the rise of single parent (mostly mom) homes and boys being taught there is no need for men. We are now half way through the third generation of this experiment gone bad and large numbers of men have never been taught how to be men. Little boys in men bodies making grown-up choices that they are scarcely equipped to deal with.

Best case scenario is a male/female functional two parent household. Little boys need their mothers to learn how to nurture and love, and little girls need their dads to learn what type of men to look for as partners. Around puberty, those roles flip and girls need their mothers to learn how to be women and boys need their fathers to learn to be men.

Without strong male tutelage, a boy doesn't learn how to be a man. Leaves them frustrated, inadequate, unsure. These types of things (and of course others) lead to abuse.

Shitty things happen to good people every day. So as a man, the onus is on you (op) to let that shit go, man up, and be the type of man that is worthy to shape young men.

So, the boys were not taught how to recognize abuse, and were made to feel bad about being a boy by specifically being targeted as boys. Fathers, if this happens at your school where boys and girls are segregated and taught differently, you should file a human rights complaint.
