Yes. I've been faculty at a university for 10 years. Each year they announce a slew of made up administrative positions they have hired for. They are of the assistant to, deputy executive senior coordinator type. All these new admins make more than faculty. Each year our total full time faculty had decreased without fail. All the administrators do is social media crap all day and think up new 'initiatives' which means they pile more work onto faculty.

I caught some students red handed taking an online exam together that they had to do by themselves, the program proves they did it together. When i reported it, they denied it and taddled to an admin who told them to just call me racist to intimidate me into not moving forward with the report. Obviously they shut up quick when presented with the computer proof of cheating. This was 2 years ago and I have limited my interactions with minority students as a result which is a shame because a few bad apples spoiled the rest who are fine students.

It's in the interests of the rich to have the fees as high as possible to restrict the entry to the non-rich. The institutions become a filter in favor of the rich, and against the poor (just the poor, need not be minorities - this is a diversion). Then these institutions can become transmitters of who you know (other rich people) rather than what you know (that's for those destined to do work). The fact that you get "fewer classes" doesn't matter in this context; it would just interfere with all the networking time.

My wife taught at a few community colleges and also took a few non-standard "catch up" classes because she was a transfer student. In one class, she knew there was a group that copied from her during every exam, as did the prof. For the final, the professor moved my wife to a far back corner, so no one was sitting near her. The group of students flunked the final.

In a Business Communications class my wife taught, one student who was mediocre on a good day, turned in a beautifully written paper. The paper was about the founder of Napster and included the line, "Upward from homelessness into poverty." This well -crafted, descriptive sentence was far beyond the capability of the student. I did a quick search and found the phrase as well as 95% of text as it was published in a print magazine. The student could not even do a copy-paste well. My wife was advised because she had not explicitly told the students plagiarism was not permitted, the student was not expelled. Snowflakes.
