Since feminists do all of these things, I guess that makes feminism the 'Patriarchy' then

Girlfriend repeatedly lies to boyfriend through their relationship. She then lies repeatedly about going out at night (likely to cheat) while he's away, he uses home security to check and finds she's lying. Somehow 'Slate' declares that he's an abusive boyfriend and she is the victim.

Attention Australian/Perth MRA's: They are currently trying to get The Red Pill documentary shown at Hoyts Cinemas Carousel. If you are in the area, try to get tickets now to get the cinema to show it. Also let theater know feminists will be lying to try and get it removed and censored.

This dishonesty is nothing new. Every non-feminist is a 'heretic' to them. This propaganda is very similar to religious extremism.

deride feminist ideologies and mock rape victims

If feminist ideologies are anti-men, they deserve to be questioned and derided. Btw I don't think redpill focuses on feminism very much, they pretty much always talk of behavioral patterns among women, or men's self-empowerment methods/theories. And this has nothing to do with MRM. Neither of MRM or redpill mock rape victims; redpill has nothing to do with rape victims, while MRM fights for male rape victims who are often ignored by our gynocentric society and tries to protect male victims of dubious false rape accusations by women trying to take advantage of the gynocentric society.

I noticed this article to, the way they lie is conformation for me that the MRM is the right side- how it's not plainly obvious to others is something I just don't understand.

It's why I'm a little unsure about The Red Pill documentary having that name, it could lead to confusion.

[–]Macismyname 14 points15 points16 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

God I hate the name of that film. It's still a film everyone should watch.

[–]AloysiusC 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Keep in mind the red pill reference is far older than the subreddit and production of the film started either before the subreddit even existed or in its early days.

Actually I think the title is pretty good. Most people outsider of the gender discourse (which is most people) will not confuse it with the subreddit. It's a very good reference. Far more mainstreamable than talking about reddit.

THE NEW MEN'S RIGHTS DRINKING GAME

Prerequisites:

•Article on the MRM (In name only clause does not apply)

•A drink of your choice.

Rules:

•Drink at every mention of feminism. Finish your drink if the article claims that its only feminists that help men.

•Drink for every mention of the patriarchy. Finish your drink if the article claims it's the cause for all of men's problems.

•Drink for every time they write the word misogyny. Finish your drink if the article denies that misandry isn't real.

•Drink at every mention of The Manosphere, MGTOW, The Red Pill (not the movie,) Return of the Kings, or Roosh V. Finish your drink if the article never makes a distinction between them and the actual MRM.

•Drink at every grammatical error you notice, finish your drink if the article is of poorer quality than the average reddit post.

•Drink if David Futrelle or similar already refutable or easily refutable source is used. Finish your drink if more than a third of the article is written in their words.

•Drink for ever pseudo-science buzzword used.

•Finish your drink for every claim made against the MRM that is more applicable to feminism.

•Finish all your alcohol if the article never once brings up an actual issue of the MRM.

Your just young. You shall grow grasshopper till you stomach is lined with lead and you liver is effectively pickled.

[–]probably_a_squid 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Finish your drink every time the article says "the MRA".

[–]Dembara 18 points19 points20 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Some people advocate for the rights of men there, most are just focused on getting women and being redpilled. Certainly not a men's rights form.

[–]wont_tell_i_refuse 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They are, more or less, against men's rights. The orthodox TRP position is that the male struggle is hopeless because 80% of men are biologically worthless and people are hardwired not to care.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

the only MRA issues that TRP really cares about are false rape accusations and divorce rape. false rape accusations matter to TRPs because TRP is a sexual strategy that involves never committing, and false rape accusations often come from the woman having regret that the guy isn't committing. as for divorce rape, TRP is just a countermeasure.

shit like circumcision, incarceration rates, suicide rates, military inclusiveness, workplace safety... all that shit is in the MRM and not in TRP.

[–]hottake_toothache 12 points13 points14 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Very frustrating. TRP is not about men's rights at all.

[–]Argosy37 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A lot of people there actually actively deride the MRM.

[–]single_use_acc 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Anything that's seen as "antifeminist" = "Men's rights" in their eyes.

(Note: am not a redpiller.)

Feminists hate TRP, because it counters and nullifies women's primary source of power.

Is anyone surprised anymore when vox lies?

[–]omegaphallic 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

More fake news.

[–]franklindeer 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You know what would be great? If this republican asshole was actually a men's rights advocate. In the irony of all ironies, he's a red piller, yet genuinely has the power to help advance men's issues and remedy some of the problems in society and instead has chosen to game the shitty situation that exists.

[–]MagicTampon 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Vox is full of brainwashed morons.

[–]unbelievablepeople 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Who cares what the author looks like? The problem with this article is its biased content, not the physical appearance of its author.

[–]inspiron3000 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where does the bias come from?
A liftime of mental illness, manifested by obesity, projecting hatred towards men (that will never give her any positive attention due to her aposematistic appearance and behaviour).

[–]Juan_Golt 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The media assumes that any man who says something bad about women is an MRA, because that's what MRAs are right? Define MRAs as misogynists and then you can claim every misogynist is an MRA. Doesn't matter if they've never claimed to be an MRA, or actively argued against MRAs.

Conversely you can spend years on a women's studies degree, be on the board of a large feminist action group, and write policies based on feminist principles. And still not count as "a feminist".

[–]poorpersonality 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a bit disturbing but since I realized how the mainstream media lies about Feminism, equality and MRAs I have started think that I just can't trust them in anything that has a political dimension - and that's pretty much everything. So, I actually stopped following them (though I naturally still read articles here and there).

[–]IShouldNotTalk 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's almost like the media pushes an agenda, but they're just objectively reporting. Right?

[–]unbelievablepeople 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

the so-called “men’s rights” movement, which often bills itself as being about restoring men’s self-esteem after it’s been damaged by the effects of feminism, protecting fathers’ agency in custody battles, and generally restoring their traditional roles as head of the family.

That's a spectacularly bad description of how the men's rights movement bills itself. It's almost as if the writer isn't actually interested in giving a fair and accurate description of what the men's rights movement advocates for.

[–]truthenragesyou 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The Left hates me because I have a penis. The Right hates me for OH SO MANY reasons. Libertarians despise me for holding the opinion that some State institutions are necessary, and that some are even good. Am I just another centrist for which there is no party? Where am I to go?

[–]JoelMahon 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The difference between "the" and "a" is certainly huge in this context.

[–]redpillschool 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

LOL, the media hands you a guy with political power claiming to be sympathetic to men's rights, and instead of embracing it and seeing what he can do, you all go straight to "burn the witch" the same way the media does.

[–]deathdragon5858 3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What?

[–]S629A 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's the subject of the Vox article, Robert Fisher.

Yet further investigation by The Daily Beast suggests that Fisher may still be very much be an active contributor and chief moderator of The Red Pill, where an alias that appears to belong to him—under the username redpillschool—regularly champions misogynistic views. Fisher’s apparent link to redpillschool has not been previously reported.

Vox, huff po etc are all going to end up bankrupt like gawker. Wait and watch.

[–]Andpeggy123 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How hard is it to search up "men's rights" and see that we have a sub and it's NOT the red pill? WE ARE NOT THE RED PILL

[–]Doobie_34959 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Vox and Vice are trying real hard to win people over on issues like this.

[–]CurtisAxelmania 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

WCG your title is.accurate..MRAs is only used once:

men’s rights activists, colloquially known as “MRAs,”

It doesn't say all posters are MRAs as you claim.

It is also misleading.as.if to say it is THE sub, when it is really just saying "the sub" and associating "men's rights" with it.
