It's pretty funny. You can have bits of your penis cut off on the say-so of your parents (or, as I understand it, on a doctor's whim in the States), and, unless some scientists pull their finger out and get to work, there's no fixing it, you're stuck like that for life. After your death, however, it's illegal to harvest your organs unless you gave your consent while you were alive. The bodily autonomy of a boy carries less weight than the bodily autonomy of a corpse.

Well, I can't speak from a woman's perspective, but min definitely feels terrible. Masturbation is more painful than pleasurable, and sex with a condom is effectively pointless. It might as well be some other guy's dick. Even blowjobs are nothing more than mildly pleasant. I despise being circumcised, and if I could think of a stronger word for my feelings on the subject, I'd use it.

She's probably just clueless and uninformed. If you start to blame these people (not that you did) it only helps to antagonize them and not listen.

This is a young sub with lots of potential. This is the golden moment when we decide what this sub's culture will be. We have the choice to say nasty things about others or we have the opportunity to be amicable and create a tone that invites understanding.

Lets refrain from using hateful words. Lets not create a culture of us vs them. Lets create a culture of cooperation.

I think we can steer this sub in a direction that invites advocates of Men's Rights and advocates of Women's Rights. The alternative is to drive away the support of half the worlds population. That alternative is unacceptable for both sides.

There is almost no medical necessity to it. I had a phimosis as a child. The doc said to my parents that I just have to stretch it. Phimosis was stretched out in about 1-2 months without any complications or pain at all.

Can't remember, was probably still too young to really understand what I was doing I guess. Haven't talked about it with my parents or a doc again, because it was no longer an issue.

I could not pull the foreskin back and thought this was called phimosis. Stretched it out over time and didn't use steroidal cream.

I support every grown man who decides to get his penis circumcised. To each their own. If you're happy with your penis, good for you.

What I argue against is mutilating a baby, because the baby can not consent to that.

If you're cut and fine with it, its a natural reaction to defend your being and feel antagonized, but please reconsider your position on infant circumcision. I know it doesn't feel good to be acused of being a victim of something.

The point of my analogy even was that the value doesn't matter at all. You can even refer to the stolen car as a toyota and to your new bike as a ferrari. It doesn't matter, its still wrong to get your toyota stolen, even if insurance paid for your ferrari! The value doesn't matter.

So let me update this analogy:

I like that someone stole my sedan, I wanted to get rid of it anyway. It happened at night, so I wasn't even awake when it got stolen. Women give me compliments driving my convertible paid by insurance. They say its just prettier. And without a roof my convertible is even easier to clean on the inside too. What? There are people who don't like to get things they own taken away without their consent? There are even people who liked their sedan better? Idk what the problem is.

I will continue to shame men who defend the circumcision of unconsenting boys and girls! That doesn't mean that I shame circumcised penis.

Not having any recollection now, doesn't mean you didn't suffer at the time. The boy in the picture won't remember in a few decades but he suffers now.

Also it doesn't work out for everybody the same as for you. Some men lose feeling in their penis because of nerv damage during circumcision. Some men cannot masturbate because they are too tightly circumcised. Some men cannot wear boxers because the rubbing of the fabric against the unprotected tip is irritating. Some men lose feeling in their tip over their lifetime due to constant exposure, leading to a erectyle disfunction. Seldom, a boy loses parts or even the whole penis because of a botched operation, sometimes leading to suicide.

Point is, there is a risk to every operation and you should be able to consent to that risk as an adult.

I am circumcized too coming from a jewish family, and every male in my family is as well. I was always taught at sunday school that it was done for cleanliness. I don't have a problem with mine, but very recently started realizing that in the end, it just isn't my decision to make if I ever had a son, nor should it have been my parents. I know a lot of people do it for non religious reasons, mainly for the health reasons that have generally been debunked, though some doctors will still say that it's easier to not get infections, but that isn't a real reason.

As for the people downvoting you, I think that's stupid and people should learn that getting rid of habits and beliefs that you were brought up with is hard. It took me a lot of thinking and concentration to come to the conclusion that while I'm okay with it, you don't alter a human body unless there's a medical reason too. Hell, I even still wonder if I have a son if I will do it and claim some reason for doing it out of health concerns, but in the end I know that it comes down to morals. It's not my body, it's not my body, and it's his decision. I sometimes wish people in this subreddit would be a little bit nicer about this topic and try and include people to have a nice discord instead of bashing them. In the end it's still the parents call because the son can't make the decision, but I think the good parent thing to do is educate the son on the differences, teach him how to clean properly being uncircumcised, and let him make the decision later in life should he want to.

Im in the same boat as you here and it just seems like a bunch of angry uncircumcised guys are just mad for no reason. Literally never had a problem my entire life with it. That "list" of problems is pretty much bullshit. I've never seen a subject that makes Reddit rage like this.
