Women have different incentives, they have more freedom to do what they really want to do - kids, friends, shopping and stuff. That's why they tend to end up lower than men. That remains true even when women are given privileges to bypass men in public jobs and politics in particular.

So, the real question, she should be asking, is: how to force women to appreciate the same things as men?

What is bothersome is not that Jess Phillips says something like this, but that few people call her out on the blatant sexism publicly. We have freedom of expression; but there should be mechanisms in place that make sure people are accountable for the things they say. On a few issues, notably gender, that is not the case.

This may well be the best statement from this woman that I found in this article. I only managed to get halfway through before I couldn't stand the authors obvious infatuation with this woman. Still I felt the need to note the positive things.

The fact that I stick up for women doesn’t mean that I think all men are rapists. But that’s lost somewhere in translation. Obviously I don’t think that. I married one! I gave birth to two of them.

It's funny because I bet the backlash she's getting isn't because she thinks all men are rapists it's not even because she's interested in womens issues, it's because she completely disregards and minimizes the struggles of men. She's not just sticking up for women, she's actively pushing down men, and that is exactly the reason for why men's rights exist. Men calling for their issues to be taken seriously, to be seen, is something that actually scare her. I don't get how she can look her husband or her sons in the eye while having laughed at an initiative to take their suffering seriously.

If I knew the answer I would be cracking on with the solution. It’s not like they weren’t democratically elected because they are. You have to be a remarkable and amazing woman to rise to the top, whereas average men get there all the time. It’s really, really depressing.

You don't have to be a remarkable and amazing woman to rise to the top, you just have to put in a little bit of effort. (I suppose that means you have to be a remarkable and amazing woman thouhg /s) The reason that so many men make it to the top is that a much larger amount of men will actually put in time and effort to get somewhere while women are much less likely to do so. I'm sure there are plenty of capable women out there but they just don't choose to go somewhere with those capabilities. That's their prerogative as human beings. But you are free to force them into doing something they don't want if you can manage to. Just realize that you will be forcing women to do things they don't want.

This woman seems to be not much different than what she accuses men to be, she's not very remarkable she's just loud, a bit of a bully and willing to make herself heard. The fact that she's a woman also means she can tell someone to shut up and still be where she is now.

After this point there was way to much British politics that I don't know shit about and seemingly even more praise towards this woman by the author, I totally lost interest.
