Unless medically necessary, no child should be subject to this. The decision should be made by him when he turns 18. End of story. This is government-sanctioned mutilation of a little boy.

This is a healthy, functioning body part. Any doctor that harms a healthy, functioning piece of any person's body should have his right to practice medicine revoked, and be thrown in jail.

Sad story: My oldest son (17 years ago) was born out of wedlock, and I was never married to the mother. I could not stop him from being circumcised when he was a toddler. I did everything I could, including talking with the doctor before he did it. I was called a control freak by the doctor. Anyway, they went ahead and did it. There was nothing legally I could do.

Sadly, this is a case of buyers remorse involving a child. It sucks, the clause should not have been in there in the first place. I think both parents are to blame for this situation. Neither had to enforce the clause, but the father took his child's mother to court over it. This case wasn't so much about the circumcision as it was enforcing parenting plans written and agreed to by both parents. So it is a VERY slippery slope. One hand if it was ruled that the clause was going to be removed, what would the grounds be? And, what stops other parties from using this ruling to remove or modify clauses that no longer like from their parenting agreements. It may be a clause that says at a certain age, the child will move to the fathers residence and attend school there. Now, if it was the later, this sub would be up in arms about not enforcing the agreement. While I agree that the child should NOT have been circumcised, the judges hands were tied by the parties that signed the agreement. So let this be lesson to Florida fathers, be very careful about what you agree to in Florida Parenting Plans!
