Nope, not really. It's another example of utter detatchment from reality many members of the feminist movement have, as well as a complete lack of introspection and tone-deafness to their own hypocrisy, which is typical of flat-shoe wearing lesbians such as they are. (Get it?)

When you couple this kind of shit with the implied rape threats, the implied death threats, and the virtriolic hatred they demonstrate for our movement, it gets all the more easy for neutral persons observing the whole affair to think "Holy fuck, those people are crazy.", before hanging around these subreddits to hear our arguments, so I hope they carry on doing it. Their actions only convince people who are convinced by shaming tactics, which is narcissists usually. They'll reach a critical mass of assholeness and the public (And hopefully the more sane feminists) will wash it's hands of them.

What are you serious??? I don't give a flying fuck about what people think of my fedora. And why should I shave my neck? I don't shave around my scrotum. Actually I've stopped the fedora...so 70s and now its a cliche. I'm now a costume Nazi in a Kaiser helmet, prancing around. How's that for an MRA image?? By the way I maintain my principles and NEVER engage with feminazis, the only exception being ones with big tits and a tattoo. See y'all at the conference.

I'm not an MRA but I have friends who are feminist, MRA, hipster, counter culture grungy, left wing, conservative, libertarian, and I know a guy who's a salsa dance instructor. Not a single fedora seen ever. I saw guys doing the Hawaiian shirt/Fedora deal when I was in California. I figured it was some sort of super relaxed jazz fan look. Kind of guy you'd expect to ralk up a history lesson on the local venues or see carrying a wind instrument . No idea how it became some sort of political statement.

I wish I could go to this thing. On rare occasions (like when someone else provides the costume) I enjoy a bit of cosplay.

I'd love to take a bit of inspiration from Game of Thrones and wear a White Knight of Fedoras costume, complete with a plumed fedora and little fedoras etched into the armor.

I think we should embrace the image, take the piss. The best way to address stereotypes IMO is to embrace them with humor. Really grinds people's gears.

I had a fedora once, it was my uncles from back in the day, but eventually I outgrew it. I own several hats now, a trilby, a few ball caps, and the most comfortable toque I've ever worn. I don't really wear any on a regular basis, though I don't see how owning or wearing a certain type of hat is a bad thing.

No. I've worn a few snapbacks and fitteds (or however you spell that). They're real popular in urban areas. However, I've recently stopped wearing them and switched to just sunglasses, at least until summer is over. After a certain age it just feel silly having a needless accessory on you.

Never understood this one, just joined reddit 6 or so months ago and just kept hearing this over and over and realized ir was some kind of insult from feminists... I had to google fedora to understand what it was.. OK then so its a hat, ummm I still dont get it.

The thing I've noticed is that all the average men I know that are in my age group sympathize with MRA issues. Most of these men are in relationships, have had normal experiences with women, have decent jobs, have an education, and do not larp (just a joke, I'm sure larping is good fun).

It's not a bunch of angry, ugly, fat men that have been shunned by women, although I'm sure some exist.

Interestingly, in my experience, younger men (under 35) seem to be most likely to be in support of MRA issues and this is the same age group that was raised and educated with feminism as the norm. I think it's this that creates the back lash. I know that's true at least for me personally. I grew up with feminism. With my female peers treated as equals. With college as an expectation for women and the idea that any career was a possibility. This is all good, but with that came the view that men were always the perpetrators and were never the victims.

The main point is that myself, and a whole generation of people were brought up with legal equality and pretty strictly enforced institutional equality, and now to see all this nonsense about how women from my generation have been discriminated against at every turn and victimized constantly by misogynist men, it strains belief. This for me was the reason I sympathized with the MRM. It's much more than that now, but I think similar experiences have led to the massive growth in the MRM, not adverse romantic experiences with women and neckbeards.
