I will fight to the end. I'd rather be bankrupt than let that bitch continue to win. I offered 50% of everything she's entitled to and she wants 80% and wants me to basically give her 75% of my salary for the next decade (we were only married 6.5 years). Some women are so stupid. And their lawyers don't help the situation. Set the boundary, stay strong. And of course... good luck!!!

Just stand your ground. She probably had a whole marriage of you doing whatever she wanted you too and old habits die hard. Now's the time to just say NO to her.

Did an appeasement strategy work against Germany in WWII? WWI? Will it work against Russia? Did it work against Japan? Does it ever work? Maybe, but it's not working for you. Why would she stop when you keep rolling over? Divorce is a zero sum game, your loss is her gain - why should she stop gaining? Limits must be imposed, they will never be self-imposed by her. Stop acting like you're still married and looking out for one another.

In the words of Louis CK, "The meal isn't done when you're full, the meal is done when you hate yourself." By analogy, the divorce isn't over when a fair deal is offered, the divorce is over when there's nothing left on the table.

My ex was the same until the 11th hour. In the end my lawyer and her lawyer told her that if she doesn't play ball I would get everything I wanted because I'd put in all the work and the judge would see that.

Remember this Men think 50/50 is a win. Women think 50/50 is a loss and less than they deserve.

Retract all your offers and tell her you'll see her in court. When she comes back wanting to deal offer her less than the original offer.

Don’t budge a fucking inch. I think it’s common women to become accustomed to getting their way in the marriage. Now, you should be looking at this as you forming your first boundaries in the post-marriage world. Don’t budge.

She is going to have to learn the new law of the land, and it is that she cannot manipulate you. Her first lesson is the hardest to learn, and so she is recalcitrant and fighting it. But if you budge now, than she doesn’t learn the lesson and the entire post-divorce relationship will be her attempting to manipulate you (I’m assuming you have kids and will need to coparent).

Maybe I’m totally wrong. Every scenario is different. But it’s all about boundaries and control. She has not yet mourned her loss of control over you. She doesn’t actually give a fuck about what she’s fighting over. It’s about controlling you.

Keep all evidence of her being difficult. If she is not being fair. Make an application to the court for "unreasonable behaviour". Ask the court to decide as she is steadfastly and unreasonably continuing to make unreadable demands, also ask for a penal notice to be attached to the order. If she doesn't comply with the court order she could be sent to prison.

And let me tell you something else: you better fight fight fight for a clean split, fair terms, and you keep all premarital money and premarital property. NO financial entanglements after divorce, PERIOD. No joint property ownership. No joint debt. Nothing shared at ALL.

You must have this fight, and now. If you don’t, as sure as the sun rises, after your divorce is over she will try to REOPEN the divorce or amend the settlement decree, especially if you rolled over in the original decree and gave her stuff she is not entitled to, or maintain financial entanglements. You will have given her an opening for more BS, and if she’s vindictive, this will happen. Guaranteed.

I say again, you have to take a stand. Now. No more mediation. No more “giving in.” Now you are on the warpath, and you must see it through, no matter how difficult, annoying, exasperating.

The reason she is doing this is because it has worked in the past. You back down, she loses more respect for you until there's none left. Then she cheats, files for divorce or both. Tell her she fucked up and you'll see her in court. She won't stop until she can walk away with your balls in her purse.
