What's sleep? I was averaging 5hrs a night during the "normal" times. Now I reliably get around 3-4hrs.

Light yoga before bed. Lie flat on the ground with your feet going up the wall for a few minutes. Read a good book with a cup of non caffeinated tea. Put the phone away. Start this bedtime routine earlier. If you wake up earlier than usual that’s fine, go for a jog or workout. Try it out for a few nights until you find something that works. Tv and phone right before bed is recipe to be up all night.

Melatonin helped me fall asleep, what it didn't do was keep me asleep. My psychiatrist is old school and after several months of not being able to get even 3 hours of sleep at a time, she prescribed trazodone. That was amazing for several years. Now I have the opposite problem that my sleep is so deep, you could set a bomb off next to me and I might wake up, but likely not.

Consider a sleep study to get more detailed insight into what is going on.

Melatonin helped me get through the tougher 3 months of divorce. Just make sure you're getting at least 6 hours of sleep on it.

Ask your doctor for some temporary seroquil. It’ll knock you out and is a mood stabilizer

Oh, I had this.

No coffee, some alcohol, some valerian root extract, work, videogames and light comedies helped the best.

For me after 3 months restless nonsleep nights resided. I had to stream video to first get my mind off things; then I got a kindle and tried bedtime reading, now I am working out more to bring on exhaustion sooner.

It gets better, human adaptability even to this shock.

I feel you. I could fall asleep within a minute while married (and I’m back to it now) but couldn’t BUY sleep in the middle of the divorce.

You’ve gotten some other comments, but I found cleaner eating and working out helped me a lot. I also found box breathing to be an incredible help when I laid down. Don’t ask me all the science behind it, but I would do it 5 or 10 times and fall asleep within about 5 minutes.

I usually had no problems falling asleep, but the issue was staying asleep.

Now I sleep a lot better. Time has helped.

At night when i lay down I think back on my day and what occurred and all the things I did the best I could on. It eases my conscience considerably.

And being very honest, I have a new dog that is very attached and burrows into my side. It’s something else to focus on and take care of. That helps a lot too.

I’m lucky enough to have a cannabis medical script for stress, and I use the cannabis gummies to sleep. A quarter dose maybe every 2nd or 3rd night to get a solid sleep. Beats drinking

I do not miss those nights. When I was in the thick of it my one brother told me about liquid zzzquil and holy hell it was a life saver.

You wake up in the morning thinking, “huh, I fell asleep and stayed asleep”. You don’t feel groggy at all either, no weird side effects.

Solidarity brother. My sleep has only now gotten more consistent. I found diet and exercise to ve helpful and, of course, our good friend time. Good luck man.

At times of marital problems I wound up being so desperate for sleep I took olly sleep gummies or unisom on really desperate nights.

Definitely helped… so if you are desperate, maybe will help you.
