How do you deal with this possibility and possible fear of yours a - if you never get remarried or have another long term relationship. And how has your marriage changed or amplified your thinking on this?

I won’t to say too much, but I’m from a big family and that doesn’t NOT guarantee any sort of roaring fireplace at Christmastime in a cabin somewhere surrounded by loved ones.

I experienced extreme disappointment with how siblings dealt (or not dealt) with assisting in helping a long m-term ailing parent. Several simply stopped visiting.

So this has colored my perception of the value of a relationship vis a vis children. I am a combo of realistic/cynical. Don’t know. Don’t care how it is characterized. Result is the same skepticism.

This parent was very good so it wasn’t one of those reap what you sow things.

I’m just worried about chronic pain and embarrassment while living on my last legs, shitting/pissing myself with no one to help clean up the mess.

Thoughts?

PS All of my best friends ever have been male. Never has a d don’t think I believe in a soulmate for me personally. Another consideration for me.
