Hello all,

I feel like we're always on the brink but we seem to continue on and make it work. We've got kids so I think that's a big part of it. She also doesn't work and doesn't want to work so I think that's a big part of it as well. I'm not sure we're both 100% ready to divorce but the idea is certainly on both of our minds.

A big reason I think she hasn't left yet is because she knows there is a potential inheritance on my side and she probably assumes she is entitled to part of it. I mentioned above how she doesn't want to work and I don't believe she will file before the inheritance comes my way. She just talks a lot more about the potential of it and me 'being alone' the rest of my life.

My questions is if I get the inheritance and then she decides to file, what happens? I am not putting her name on anything or moving it into any joint account. However, if I draw from the inheritance to pay for some things (i.e. the house) does just the house become commingled or is the whole inheritance now up for grabs at that point since part of it was already used?

I want to stay.....for the kids sake ...but I also don't want to get screwed over.
