I’m still kind of shaking about this. My wife and I have been separated only 6 weeks. She surprised me by getting her parents to stay with us. Her Mom has been here a couple of weeks.

She said she was leaving on Thursday and I said “Ok good. Maybe mine will want to visit”. They’re on the other side of the world and wouldn’t intrude at this time. I just said it and it totally blew up. Turns out my wife or family aren’t comfortable for my family to be here. Don’t like them or respect them.

So, anyway, I told my wife that this situation is ridiculous. We need to work together and move on without family in the way. She doesn’t believe, thinks I’m a liar and my parents will turn up on doorstep or something.

I want to sell the house in summer. Probably is, my wife has it in her head that she won’t move without being pre-approved for a mortgage. She’s self employed and looking to get back in corporate world. I support her in that but could take a while and we can’t keep living like this.

Her Mom thinks I’m trying to force her out to rent some basement suite. She doesn’t think I can legally get off the mortgage without my wife signing it. Says they’ll go after spousal support if I try anything. Hates my family etc. Just nasty stuff and I did my best to stay calm.

Sorry for the rant. I just had to get it off my chest.
