So if you haven’t read my first post I’ll link it here

I have the kids back. They are staying with me this whole week and then with her next week because their cousins will be at their grandparents house and that stay has been planned for months (before the separation). Yesterday when she dropped them off we had a talk and were talking about division of property. She doesn’t seem to think that marital assets is a thing and this is going to get ugly. My questions is- how can I put my foot down on the equitable split of assets, fight for parental custody and still keep things civil between us for the sake of the children? Is there a way?

I fear that if things get ugly and contentious between us (which will most likely happen) it will hurt the children and we won’t be able to coparent as best as we could had things not become contentious. Any advice is welcome, the good the bad and the ugly. Don’t have to sugar coat either for me. Thanks in advance!
