Can two average looking people be genuinely in love?

And find each other attractive, because my parents aren't supermodels, but have been married for 19 years, and they quickly developed an interest in each other. My mom might be slightly better looking, but not a skinny supermodel either, and my dad doesn't have a gym body, but recently both have lost a lot of weight. Are my parents exceptions to the rule? And most married couples I see are comprised of average looking people anyways. I get that looks are important, but still I believe that there are people that genuinely love each other and find each other attractive despite not being supermodels. In that cases personality seems to be more important than looks. Plus, my parents still look kinda good for their age. What's your take on this?
