More accurately, shy men struggle with women. A lot of more intellectual guys happen to struggle with social interaction due to shyness, social awkwardness, social anxiety, etc.

Isn't intelligence raw problem solving capabilities? I think the majority of people think they're more intelligent than they really are, and the more intelligent you are, the better equipped you are at rationalizing your flaws

A lot of intelligent men like to talk about very logical rational things, and a lot of times that isn't conducive to having a fun interaction that shows you in an attractive light (at least not for initial encounters). I struggle a lot with this myself tbh, I am super analytical.

What do you usually talk about with these women?

This is the flipside of "assholes do well with women". It's not because those men are assholes, but because they have other traits that draw women to them, often while they behave reasonably well (masking their asshole self).

Intelligent men who struggle do so because of other traits associated with being exceptionally bright. Things like being too focused on academics in school, to the detriment of their social development. Their interests as adults may be narrowly focused. Not necessarily in an "on the spectrum" way though that can be an issue, but often just by default. You don't develop an interest in sports unless you're around them, and the same with music or art or hiking or climbing or travel.

No more or less than intelligent women struggle with men. My sister once commented that 'dating is easier if you're not very clever' (she was talking about all genders here).

Firstly, there's a big range of what counts as 'intelligence' so it's hard to quantify anyway.

Secondly, lots of people find it important to meet someone who they respect intellectually / consider their intellectual equal. It's about compatibility, not some objective view of intelligence.

It’s hard for intelligent men to think abstractly in order to be funny. We are to used to thinking in serious, logical ways. It seems the less intelligent you are the more funnier you are. Something most women find attractive.

No. This definitely not true.

However, if you are very intelligent, it is harder to find a compatible mate because there is a smaller pool of women who are also very intelligent.

It sounds like your friend is really good at reading signals from women to know if they are interested and to know what subjects they are willing to talk about. This comes from practice and building empathy. (If you are on the autistic spectrum this is more difficult.)

A smart person could examine your coworker and mimic every action he did as if they were an actor, and get the same success.

There's a difference between people who think they're smart, and people are truly gifted. Like the ones who can learn and adapt.

Being smart isn't about seeing trends. It's about adapting, and changing, and learning to live within them. You can see how the game works, now you gotta play to it.

Additionally, you COULD argue that intelligent men have it worse simply because by having higher standards, they've removed a large number of people from the potential dating pool.

So while they could date those people, they simply choose not to. A self-made challenge doesn't specifically mean something is harder though.

If you think talking about sex is a big deal, she will know.

Did you know that we experience 95% of stimuli from our senses subconsciously? (Approximately 95000 stimulus per second)

Did you also know because we are energy at our core (masculine and feminine) we actually subconsciously communicate how we truly feel about something via our energy that gets translated into our body language, words actions and tone of voice?

The reason why some people are more easier to have conversations and initiate sex etc is because they do not make it a big deal and so it shows in their voice actions words and body language.

Thus the other people they talk about this with don’t make it a big deal and if they do then person who is cool with this subject actually tends to consensually open them up to it more.

Especially if they empathize take accountability for making them feel uncomfortable etc.

Sadly the people who make it a big deal usually see sex as a way to get something out of someone rather than add something to their life.

I have just ditched all dating apps because of that.

I've been talking to a "smart" woman working in cancer research. She bragged about being super logical just like a dude and that all of her friends wanted to bang her because she was also hot. She then proceeded to talk about her exes and shit.

She, just like the others before her, was surprised that I didn't want to date her anymore. She stopped talking to me for 2 days and came back only to tell me that she was upset at me because ??? and she couldn't figure out why she felt that way but conceded that I was right.

She was the dumbest person I had to talk to while being also the less dumb woman I had to talk to.

I proceeded to put a song from Watchmen (that piano depressive shit from the Dr Manhattan birth) and yote all the dating apps from my phone.

For the first time in 5 years of being single, I feel hope. I won't have to deal with that anymore.

I've learned that I have more success when I only think with my dick. Sober? I don't think I can stand women in a romantic sense.

You don't get a serious relationship with women by being smart, because if you're smart enough, you'll never want to be in a relationship with them to begin with.

If hormones are pouring from your nose, you'll overlook anything stupid coming from them, you'll be funny, non judgemental, thus making you more attractive. You'll eventually get into a relationship even if you're not looking for it.

Intelligence is associated with a long term orientation in relationships and a preference for monogamy. In addition, it’s likely that people with higher IQ are around other people with high IQ. Lastly, being very far from the average will make it harder to interact with an average person. The same goes for women. Some study showed that 130 or so wasn’t as attractive as being slightly above average to the average person. For women we can see that men like intelligence but that it’s not a positive if she is smarter than him.

Intelligence is one of the traits humans most strongly assortatively mate for. It’s very likely that intelligence is indeed attractive for an intelligent woman.
