I think it depends on the definition of suffering.

Just in things related to sexuality and relationships:

Suffering for some men means not finding the kind of girlfriend they want while in their 20s and having to wait a few extra years to find one. It can indeed be painful, but I think it's not a horrible degree of suffering. A lot of women will go through the same if they're not good looking, or overweight, or above a certain age, and we don't see them constantly complaining. Plus of course men have an easy way out for company and sex through prostitution.

Suffering for women might mean going through all the difficulties of being a woman: painful menstruation, contraception and its side effects, fear about pregnancy, difficulty in getting an abortion if needed, unsatisfactory sex many times, sexual assault and rape, harassment, body dysphoria and eating disorders, constantly being judged because of the way we look, behave or think, slut shaming, feminist shaming, pregnancy and all of its inconveniences, child birth together with considerable pain and risks, postnatal depression, lactation, child rearing, menopause, etc.

So, whereas the suffering of men is limited to a few elements which are not privative of them and which women can also experience, the suffering of women encompasses a much wider array of things which are exclusive to women and which men probably cannot understand.

I guess an additional factor is tolerance to suffering, and I think men score much lower in that regard.

I'll probably get downvoted but I don't mind. Whenever I see posts like this asking the question of who suffers the most and then I see the comment section pretty much saying "Its both because all humans suffer" I just can't help but to shake my head.

Yes. All humans suffer. Its horrible and one of the reasons I am antinatalist.

However, women definitely suffer more than men and anyone who denies that really just denies history. Women along with POC just recently gained rights in the last hundred years and that is just in first world countries. Women are being raped mostly despite what MRAs say. Men perpetrate most violence. Just look at the gender of mass shooters.

I'm exhausted being a woman. I feel like no matter what I say or no matter how much evidence i have that women definitely suffer more than men I'll never win because men will be listened and taken more seriously than a woman ever will.

Men get rejected once and shoot up a school full of innocent kids or grocery shoppers or just anyone trying to have a fun at a festival.

I'm over it

the people complaining are the ones who aren't satisfied with their dating life. The men who say that it's the women's fault aren't getting the dating success they want same with the women complaining. for example, some guys will say that the west is "degenerate" and proceed to go to poorer countries and indulge in the same "degenerate" behavior.

so it's relative to the individual's dating situation.

The few people of either gender I've met that unironically complained about the other sex where also the least happy people I've met. Listen if you like, just don't be surprised if you end up where they are at.

The world is nothing like they describe it, that's how it compares.

In real life I chalk it more up to being an individual thing as opposed to something that affects genders as a whole.

While I think it's normal for most people to have at least some complaints about the other sex, the ones who actually go far enough to blame all their problems on the other gender are more than likely the ones that are struggling with their dating and sex lives.

In reality, also many problems that men complain about women and vice versa aren't even gender specific at all, individuals of both genders claim men do this or women do that when really it's people do this. Both genders tend to justify bad behaviour based on being on the receiving end from the other, when really the vast majority of it is a "chicken or egg" scenario

I would say women suffer more as a collective. The majority of men don't suffer at all really. Only the ones at the bottom do but they're disposable so no one really gives a shit.

Its always mens fault. Any man blaming a woman should blame themselves because woman take cue from men. If the men aren’t doing they’re job then the women complain

Neither gender is suffering. It’s only you if you are suffering if you let yourself suffer. If you are on dating apps trying to find “the one” instead of actually talking to real women in real life, then you are obviously suffering.

No one has all the answers is correct.

Who has it worse depends on your point of view, but you also have to ask yourself "what do I do with this information?"

If youre under the belief that it is harder to be a man, does that mean you can't support women? If youre under the belief its harder to be a woman, can you still not support men?

I think the problem ultimately is that people are under the mistaken impression that it isn't possible to care about multiple things at once.

Men say it's women's fault for the way society is and women say it's men's fault.

I've noticed there's 2 feminist perspectives on the patriarchy;

Men sustain of the culture that supports the patriarchy.
Men and women sustain the patriarchy. (e.g. The Handmaid's Tale portrays this. Men are the leaders of institutions, but women play key roles in sustaining the system - e.g. some of the wives and the aunts.)
