The manosphere is a source of psychological harm for men, as it distorts their perception of women, making them suspicious and bitter toward women. It incessantly posts stories where women abuse men, but this is a consequence of selection bias, only highlighting the most extreme cases and neglecting the positive or neutral ones. But the users are misled into thinking that this is the norm for women’s behavior, especially if they are deficient in social experience themselves, which is frequently the case for Reddit users. So these users come to believe that all women are solely driven by exploiting men for their money, their labor, and their status, and that they will readily discard them for a superior alternative. This is a warped and inflated view of women that contradicts reality, but this is the image that the redpill implants in its users and it impairs their brain.

Therefore, most users do not feel hatred toward women, they are just sceptical or wary of women. This is gynoskepsis, not misogyny, and this distinction is crucial because it will actually resonate with and induce some doubt in the users, while labeling them as women haters will not, because most of them do not hate women, they are just socially inept and stumbled upon the red pill and the red pill supplied them with narrowly curated information that made them doubtful of women and their intentions, and their behavior is simply a reaction to how they have been brainwashed into believing how women act.
