Low self-esteem and other mental pain can cause toxic behavior. There are multiple adaptations to cope with low self-esteem and emotional immaturity. Those adaptations are meant to be protective but at the cost of damaged ways of relating to other people. Men and women.

It is my non-scientific opinion that Red Pill targets men specifically and validates those adaptations. So to them it fits like a glove because it is validation. An easy trap.

Women also have unhealthy adaptations but it shows up in other ways that are just as toxic to their mental health as RP is to men. Unfortunately I think RP integrates that into their system of belief, as a validation method. So more men fall into the trap of “women also have issues and are just as bad so why not just go with RP”.

So, people will often look for sources that validate their conservative impulses.

Also, our culture has misogynistic roots. We don't yet have a lot of practice on how to handle equality.

And some people are just desperate to have some sex or companionship. Redpill offers a system of (false) rules and shortcuts that they can follow. It's very appealing when you don't know any better.

For my point of view. Growing up in the 90’s-00’s i Saw how mercantile And narssecistic humans just were. I was also in a case of being bullied but that is another factor. I guess that on Would take red pill to find the eternal freedom and not become a slave for the system that the modern welfare has created. And the fustration of the realization that women are actually more focused on wealth and status than your personality. So why Build up wealth and status when you are just going to be used?…..but in the end you Will just have to accept it…especially when you realize that you have no idea how it is to grow a Human inside of you and what it costs…..consequins of every choices

Victim mentality is very attractive. Having a group to blame all your problems on absolves you from having your own problems. It was a very effective strategy in Hitler's rise to power.

Part of it is standard misogyny, and mental problems that radicalize that misogyny into the redpill, the same way people get radicalized into the alt-right (there's a nice video by Step Back History linking traumatized veterans to membership in hate groups).

There's also personal trauma. A lot of people who get sucked into the redpill, especially the MGTOW lot, have had a personally bad and vulnerable experience with a woman. Instead of realizing this too is patriarchy, they blame women and feminism. It's similar to women who join TERF/FDS-type forums, who often have histories of trauma at the hands of men/amab people that they weaponize against trans people.

RedPill also offers community to lonely people. In the atomized world of capitalism and the commodification of love (refer Yugopnik's video on dating apps), a lot of people are lonely and radicalizable. For example, Incels find a community they can daily partake in weird self-hating rituals with, a spiral of self-hatred that pulls an individual deeper and deeper and results in tragic consequences, whether it's the spate of incel attacks or the many incels who have not-alived.

There's also the fact that we have zero sound advice on dating or the lack of it. "Don't date someone with serious unresolved trauma" is standard advice that can be delivered without weird redpill addons or calling those people "damaged goods". There also needs to be advice on how to give up if you want to - most responses to the question "how to give up on love" are either professional bro dating coaches telling you not to give up, or MGTOW videos.

This is why I started r/Herbivorism, a group for people who give up on love without the toxic nonsense of redpill. It's more about self love and meditation. I was actively trying to reclaim the phenomenon of "herbivore men" from MGTOW chuds who tried to appropriate something that had far more to do with capitalism and culture than their movement.

What's true is true, regardless if it's useful or not.

Depending on what you're labeling as 'misogynistic', some of it may be true. Or it may not. Rather or not someone objects to it doesn't have that much baring as to rather or not it it's true.
