I just threw the LVM out of my house 2 weeks ago because the thought of buying him another really thoughtful and expensive Christmas gift while he gets me a backscratcher from CVS 2 hours before Christmas made me want to vom. Feels sooooo goooooooood that when a bon Jovi song came on the radio right after I actually sang along :)

Ahhh Christmas. Usually the time when my ex would pester me about what I wanted (instead of thoughtfully curating a gift; I had to tell him what to buy me) while I spent 5 hours of my life finding a gift for him (or referring to notes I took throughout the year). It’s a quiet Christmas this year 🤗

I have several gifts that I bought for LVX and never offered. Some are still in their package. I could use them, as they are quite practical. I also have a Marcus Aurelius luxury edition. I think I'll read that, as LVX can borrow some from the public library of he wants to.

I can definitely empathise with this. My wife recently left me and took the kids. But after lurking here for a bit, I realised that I should be independent and not let them dictate my life. So I'm refusing to pay alimony, as it’s an archaic, gender discriminatory and frankly quite racist law that only fosters financial dependence and transactional parenting
