NEVER move in yourself too. I did it out of desperation one time myself within 3 months, because of my situation in that time (unstable) plus I didn't trust him and I wanted to prove my intuition wrong (well I didn't, found out he was still addicted to cocaine and alcohol, plus cheated on me 🤡) Became his full household bangmaid, became so depressed and nearly psychotic because of the way he gaslit me and emotional abused me, went to actually see a doctor because I thought I was going crazy, got anti-psychotics (fucking absurd but that's another story), eventually found out about everything within 6 months together. Moved out and my "mental illness" disappeared 🙃 NEVER. EVER. AGAIN.

Be financially stable YOURSELF. 2. Live ON YOUR OWN. 3. AGAIN; Never MOVE IN. 4. NEVER let a man live in your house if he can not provide.

I walked off of a second date 4 years ago because I found myself a wild hobosexual pretending to be a functional adult. He told me he "felt great about our relationship," believed he was "falling for me" and guess what he asked? You guessed it: If I had a spare key now that we were "in a relationship." I ran faster than the Roadrunner out of that restaurant. This hobo thought spending $50 on dinner would gain him access to a free place to stay. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if he is still out scamming vulnerable women.

I have encountered so many of these men in the wild, it's actually gross. It is especially more pronounced during "cuffing season" aka Fall/Winter in places where it gets cold/snows or so they won't be alone for the Holidays and might get a free meal from their new girlfriends unsuspecting family.

While this advice is spot on, I also want to add that you need to be very clear about the division of labor in the home before moving in with someone. This video focuses entirely on finances, which are extremely important, but don't forget to vet for household management, too.

It can be easy to be tricked into thinking "oh, he's got his finances together," and then be stuck doing all the scrubbing, washing, and folding once you move in together.

I have had this happen and it was traumatizing. He said he had his own place yet was always at mine, he tried to get me to get rid of my cat because he was allergic, he would be on my couch when I got home from work, he would sleep in my bed when all I wanted was to be left alone for the night because I work... A lot. He bought groceries ONCE and then complained when I was too exhausted from work to cook and tried to make me feel bad about it.

This was before my FDS days and even before Reddit. I've come a long way.

The final straw was when he tampered with my birth control. Yes, I got pregnant. I dealt with that on my own, kicked his ass to the curb and swore I would never allow myself to be put in that situation ever again. He fought and kicked and cried that I can't do this to him. It was February and cold. He had nowhere to go and that I was the bad person. Ugh. I feel sick that I allowed such behaviours

Couple years ago in Los Angeles I dated a very cute immigrant guy who had no visa, no money and no job. Within 1 week he was coming over to my house at least 5 days a week for free food, sex and a place to sleep. He was fun to be around so I tolerated it, but I would never agree to do that again.
