All though I 100% endorse this message, I do really watch out what kind of content I post on social media.

I don't want to invite the dusties, thirsty guys and N/LVM by presenting myself as easy prey and I don't need the validation either. I found out that the pictures of myself that I found the most beautiful, have nothing to do with sexual positions or nudity. I'm at a point that idgaf about the male gaze and my social media is a place for me.

That said, yeah, if a guy wants to control me in any way - even when it comes to social media - he's got to go.

I once unfriended my husband because he thought he had a say on the things I talk about. We're good now but he learned his lesson. I only ask his opinion if mine could jeopardize his (sensitive) job.

I'm very active on social media. I love sharing stories about my days and my job, both the good and the sad moments.

Once this guy I told me that I should share the sad moments with just him, not on social media and not with anybody else... because he was umm "worried". And I said I knew how to defend myself if I got attacked for what I shared and he patronized me, "do you actually know? How? Tell me..."

It creeped me out , I don't care if he tried to "care" for me and I blocked him. Still, what he said on that and on social media in general got into my head a little because I entertained discussions with him on it. During these discussions, I felt like I had to defend why I liked doing what I did, and that I wasn't becoming fake, that it was the real me I put forward, not a "mask" like he said. Even now, it still has a little effect how I feel about my job :(

I really regret talking to him on that topic. I regret giving a chance to "UndErstAnd hIS ViEwpOiNts" Fucking waste of time and mental energy!!

So when I was 18 I dated a guy who would tell me I post too often. He criticized me for posting a picture with my brother because he was living in a different country and I missed him... He called me an attention seeker.

I would understand if I was posting extremely provocative and degrading photos of myself if my bf would communicate he is uncomfortable with it. But if I'm posting things that are normal and fun, go f yourself lmao.

So I told my ex to f off lmao. Good times.
