I can't tell you how often I get this exact line - "I'm not on this app much, heres my number if you ever want to hang out" and then they disappear forever. These days it's an immediate nope from me. Anyone can get app notifications if they want to, or check the app if they're really interested in someone. And if he wanted to schedule a date with you, he would. I know you know this, it's just bullshit and I wanted you to know this is super common. It's the predecessor to "I'm not looking for commitment, let's just have fun and see where it goes." Nothing is less sexy than a man who can't ask for what he wants.

So far I’ve got two dating prospects stall out at the step of “booking a date”:

Prospect #1 (54yo* man)... we progress from OLD to text messages. Asks me “When am I gonna get to see you?”... for which I responded with “When you call me”. #1 did not call me. One more attempt though... he messages “Maybe we can chat more I’d still like to meet you for a cocktail*”, to which I responded “just as soon as I’m finished with (X).” Again, #1 did not ask how long I estimated it would take to finish, not ask for a date.

Prospect #2 (36yo man)... Asked for my number, so far so good. We hit it off for a bit. Feels promising. Messages me “When shall we patio**** it up?”, to which I respond “When? While we’re still young. 🤣 - Tuesday or Thursday works.” #2 did not respond with a date request.

All I can really see here are two instances of grown men looking through a list of contacts and holding out for pickmes who will leap at the chance to do all the legwork for a date. Yeah no, not me buddy.

I can't count the times I got "Oh I'm not on here much. Drop me your number, and..." Apparently in today's internet connected world where everyone's on their phones all the time, none of them "use xyz app very much" I guess they're just so busy, you know. As if you have to sit there and stare at the screen. Now we're pretending that apps don't send you notifications, I guess. If you're "not on here much" dude, don't use it. Yeah, I'll just give you my number and my address too while I'm at it.
