I went on a tinder date with a POS once who told me he had a tinder date previously where the woman looked bigger than her picture and he walked out. She saw him too, they made eye contact and he just walked away.

Moral of the story is: don’t feel bad, because if the shoe was on the other foot he wouldn’t have even kept talking to you.

Men "fatfish" all the time. Make sure you get a body pic of him before you agree to anything.

If his photos are blurry, from the neck up only, he's hiding something. I put in my profile that I'm athletic and seeking the same. Ask him, what do you do for exercise? What are your hobbies? If he tells you, video games, he's likely overweight because that's the only thing he does. If he doesn't go to the gym, or doesn't mention anything athletic in the lost of things he enjoys, then it's very likely that he doesn't do anything.

But you can't ask him outright; you must be sly about it. "What did you do last weekend?" "What are your hobbies?" This is how you discover. Be patient, ask little questions at a time, and then you put the picture together. Don't ask outright, "Do you exercise?" He'll just lie his ass off.

When you discover that he is fat, just block and move on; don't tell him why you're blocking, so he can't play other girls. We need to know those things about them, and if they figure out that the video games and zero exercise are a tell for a LVM, they'll just lie about it.

Dude, I always stalk when I can. I was talking with this guy for 2 weeks on tinder before I decided to give him my phone number and go on a date. His pictures were really cute. The only thing I thought was weird was the lack of toothy grins in his profile pics. An hour before our date he texts and tells me that he has braces. I'm like, okay no big deal. Welllllll, I get to the date, and he starts talking. Turns out he has a degenerative bone disease that affects his teeth. They're really, really tiny and spread out, which causes an extreme lisp.

I understand flaws, but, he kept it a secret until I was faced with it. Not only that, but to compensate he was overly arrogant. Only talked about himself, didn't ask me a single question about me, then cut the date short cause he had to feed his dogs. I was so confused, lol. He text later and tried to be flirtatious and I was just like, hard pass dude.

I am off online dating for a long time but while I was active 90% of the guys looked worse than they did on their photo, often significantly, 9% looked the same and just one guy looked actually better.

So, over the past few months I met three guys who were way heavier in person. I'm talking about, they were borderline or actually obese. They used old photos. This is just a thing. Be glad you didn't actually meet him in person.

I not only deleted my tinder to refrain from going back, but I did it for this exact thing. Since I had myself as “bisexual” and then “lesbian” on there, I still found myself with a plethora of catfish as well as men who have this narcissistic idea that their penis will turn me, completely. Tinder is a good app in idea, but action it is terrible. I can understand using photos from when you had blonde hair or you didn’t have this particular piercing, but drastic changes in how one looks is very dishonest. It’s another species of cat fishing.

Fortunately it’s tinder. You aren’t obligated to hold a conversation. If any party is struggling with holding one, or wasn’t going to work out anyways. It just really gets hard when you taken it outside of tinder, but they can suck it. Your life isn’t revolved around someone you swiped right one, once. Especially when he’s dishonest enough to abstain from using a more recent photo. Even a photo from six months prior would be more viable.

Few similar incidents here too. One clown was actually 4 years older than his tinder age. His tinder stated he was 28, he was in fact 32 and he actually said that he did that to circumvent to get younget girls who didnt prefer dating men above 30. I was the target victim.

One didnt mention having kids at all until a month later.

My ex...was using a picture taken 5 years ago. He had since gotten very big. I still dont know what prompted me to still date that sociopath.

This happened to me once too! He ended up being way heavier than his photo seemed, which was pretty much only his face.

He had the nerve to pull up my profile and say I tried to make myself appear thinner (I didn't say a word to him about his deceitfulness).

I absolutely take pride in being honest about my body type and have at least one full body or at least waist/hips and up to be upfront and honest verbally in conversation about how I look.

Online dating is the worst.

I feel like it’s the norm for men on these apps to somehow be always less attractive irl than in their photos. A few weeks ago I had a date with a guy who was actually significantly more attractive than his photos led him on to be and I was literally shook at first meeting because it’s never happened to me yet on OLD.
