Kinda ruined what was supposed to be a cute, funny toon about animals. It's just that I recently went on a rant about how almost every male in my family is a no-good LVM/NVM. My aunts are STILL doing it to their sons. It's gotten to the level of: My darling baby golden child I'll do your laundry and even fight your wife for you. Horrifying.

My father flat out told me as a young girl that because I am a woman that I am weak, inferior, and worthless. He used those exact words. He also told me that I was a failure. Growing up I wasn’t even allowed to leave the house. I had no friends, I had nothing. I was literally the school joke. However, my brother was allowed to do whatever he wanted and had no rules. I did all the chores and all the work at home while he went out and partied. Countless hours of therapy have still not helped me let go of my anger about all of it. Lord knows I have tried to let go and forgive for my own good. He still treats me the same way even though I live across the country. I’ve had to completely ignore all calls and everything. I refuse to let that into my life ever again.

My parents are disappointed I’m not attending the top 10 law school in my hometown when neither of my brothers attended any graduate school, one has only a high school degree, and they both have shit jobs, and when I had zero guidance from them about applying to schools and no lawyers in the family to advise me. It’s just expected I be more successful with no help.

Hell yeah I'm raising a pampered, demanding, spirited, coddled, intelligent, and fiercely independent little girl. Who gonna check me? Demand the best baby girl. You deserve it. She spoiled rotten. No weak ass LVM is ever gonna turn her head. Because she's a princess. At least that's my goal.

My mother still pays my little brother's cell phone bill and he's 35. I've been paying all my own bills since I left for college at 17.

The amount of times I've served food for my brother because "I can't do it, I'll spill it everywhere" makes me so mad. If he's given a teeny tiny chore, he'll elaborate it and make it 10x harder for himself and will then proceed to ask for help.

The one odd day he decides to cook, he'll turn everyone into his sous chef and will be extremely snappy with them because he wants everything to be "perfect". I love him but hate how he's been babied and is now incapable of being self sufficient.

In a way, I’m kinda glad this is how it was for me. Of course it could suck growing up, but when you’re an adult, no one gives a shit about you or holds your hand anyway, so this helped me prepare to be independent and take care of things on my own.

If I can take care of a family when I’m younger, it’s so easy to just take care of myself when I’m older. I’ll obviously never treat anyone else this way based on their gender, and I don’t condone this at all since a lot of women can internalize it. I think having a FDS mindset + learning this independence helps, but it would just be harmful without a FDS/non-subservient mindset.
