Oh god, I wish these were the red flags I picked up on while dating.

I had someone who kept negging me, and it destroyed me a bit, and being a MAJOR PICKME, I kept trying to prove I was worthy.

I told him my fav movie, And he said “meh, IMDB rates it as 7.8. I only watch movies that are 8+”. I bit my tongue and continued searching for movies 8+ to watch with him.

I was trying to plan a 3-6 month trip through Europe, and he didn’t say anything about it except “WELL, when I lived in Budapest, ME ME ME ME ME. You don’t know what you’re planning since you didn’t include Budapest”.

He also invited me to an after party for an awards event. Space was small, music was great and it was hot stuffy and sweaty. When they started bringing out trays of bottled water, he ran to grab one, cracked it open and started drinking it. This woman literally slapped him, grabbed his bottle to give to me and berated him for not being a real man. She then told me I could do MUCH better and not putting up with his shit. And I didn’t listen.

MAN, I wish I had my guard up more back then. Good on you for spotting this early.
